The Ugly Swan, This is different from my other songs, in that it's meant to be more of a round, or simply a poem put to music. It doesn't have a chorus, and its repetitive. It's not really meant to be anything more interesting. The poem is more important really. Lyrics: a maiden swan with feather's white awaits her young all through the night and when her children do appear one's feathers are dull it brings her fear (oh the ugly swan) her other children with feather's white they look at him with only spite they spit and curse and cry and want their mother to drown him in the swamp (oh the ugly swan) And so one night, the moon is low the mother swan takes her son below the water sighs as she carries him deep to find his own immortal sleep (oh the ugly swan) morn awakes with renewed life the ugly swan he did not die but he knows his mother will be mad he sits and wishes that he had (oh the ugly swan) After many eve's he still sits alone then winter comes and brings the snow the ugly swan frozen solid like stone his once dull feathers now begin to glow (oh the ugly swan) His body is bathed in an icicle robe his seat has become an icicle throne his head is adorned in a crown winter's own he shines with great beauty only death could have known oh the ugly swan
