One of my very favourite singer/songwriters has always been Charles Aznavour and this song of his in particular I would say is one of the greatest love songs ever written.

When I was playing at the Penstock Lounge a few years back, Listz's Liebestraum was the most popular of all light classics requests. Thus it made it's way onto my CD "A Touch Of Class".

House Of The Rising Sun has a quite a history behind it - not only is the writer lost to history but there are many theories as to when it was actually written. There are many recordings before and after the Animals hit version in the 60's. Thus I'll toss my hat into the ring with yet another arrangement for solo piano .......... hope you enjoy!

A favourite since playing it on air as a DJ at CHWS-FM in the early 70's - always wanted to do a 'cover' instrumental piano version ......... so here it is!

Of Dvorak’s nine Humoresques, the seventh is undoubtedly the best known. My arrangement is hardly the usual lilting almost staccato delivery as written. Rather, it pays homage to the free flowing and gentle melody I hear in this beautiful piece of music.

Chopin composed this when he was about twenty, and it has remained a favourite of many for over 180 years since - it is certainly a favourite melody of mine and often requested when I'm out playing.

From the CD "A Touch Of Class" to be released (sometime in April). This theme from the Third Movement may be recognizable by Sinatra fans as it furnished the melody for "Full Moon and Empty Arms"

After a couple of months of rerecording and remastering, "A Touch Of Class" is now ready for release (sometime in April). Fourteen of my favourite light classics that I've arranged (and rearranged) over the years.

I wrote this as a kind of theme song for me to play during a three year gig at Wellington Fare in Elora. In musical terms it is, for the most part, a melody variation on the chord structure of The Shadow of Your Smile and in the arrangement you may notice me poking a little musical fun at the theme from The Midnight Cowboy.
