I realised I wanted to become a musician I was 16. While watching Metallica's S&M I just felt the need to burst out, get some drumsticks and start hitting things.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I'm not sure it was my very first one, but one of the earliest was "Saratoga" with "Mago de Oz" at Plaza de Toros de las Ventas, in Madrid. A remarkable setting made famous by AC/DC's "No Bull", which has hosted shows of Iron Maiden, The Beatles, Radiohead, Coldplay, The Smashing Pumpkins...
What gear do you use?
For live performances I use a Yamaha Rydeen with 22x16 bass drum, 12x9, 13x9-1/2 and 16x16 toms, and 14x5-1/2 snare drum, as well as a 22'' Ride Turkish J-R Jazz Series, a 20'' Ride Turkish Moderate, a 18'' Crash Turkish Moderate, a 14'' Hi-Hat Turkish Moderate, two 10'' Orion Solo Pro splashes and a Turkish Apex 18'' China.
My favourite piece of gear is my Peavey T-60, made in America in the late 70s.
I also have a Peavey Grindbass NTB5, a Reedman Guitars roundback , and Hohner's Blues Harp, Seductora, and Marine Band.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
Although I'm just checking out the site, I'd be thrilled if I could meet some great musicians from other countries.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Nowadays I'm playing drums and guitar with Atomgrado (http://atomgrado.bandcamp.com), an oldy styled pop-rock band from Madrid. I've played as well in Back To R'lyeh (backtorlyeh.bandcamp.com) and many other prog metal and experimental bands. Atomgrado will be on the road until summer 2013, when we'll start recording our second album.
