Have been trying it out with various Cigar Box Guitars. It's good to take busking so I can add some bass without taking a bass instrument with me. A few weeks ago I tried it with a Diddley Bow I made in 2011, with lots of distortion (from the Boss OS-2) and LOVED the sound!! Played it at Hot Numbers open mic in Cambridge the other week. Got some video of it, but as it was so crowded my cameraman/husband had to film from behind the speakers, and it didn't really capture the feeling, so thought I'd do a video of it at home. The song is called "Is Anybody there?" and a more basic version of it (no beat and pre Octave pedal!) is on the album "Playing (No Rules)" album which is available here http://bemuzic.bandcamp.com/album/playing-no-rules For the beat I'm using a home made mic, made with a DM-13 mic capsule (cost about a fiver from Maplins) stuffed into an old Wasabi Peanut tin. On the pedal board I've got, left to right - Boss RC-20XL Loop Station, Boss GE-7 Equaliser, Boss Overdrive/Distortion OS-2, electro-harmonix octave multiplexer, Boss chromatic tuner TU-3. At the back is a Morley A B switch and an Eneloop pedal juice which powers it all. New Song Demo - English Summer Inspired by the suntan marks that flip flops leave on your feet : -) LYRICS English Summer I'm standing in a shop doorway hiding from the rain. bemuzic busking - The Books We Read (New Song) Thought I'd try out this new song. It's very new, so there are a few mistakes! Just recorded on my phone and I notice the video sort of jumps here and there which is annoying... Oh well I enjoy singing it, and it might be awhile before I get round to recording it, so thought I'd share it : -) The song was inspired by the titles of several books that were in front of me while noodleing around on a guitar. I looked into it and it seems book titles aren't generally covered by copyright. The books were by Margaret Atwood, Haruki Murakami, and Milan Kundera, so if you like those authors you might recognise some of them... Lyrics The books we read shape our mind. Life is elsewhere, while we're eating fire. It's a wild sheep chase, we can't see the joke. This is the book of laughter and forgetting. And the world is full of ignorance, as we dance, dance, dance after dark. And the world is full of ignorance, as we dance,dance, dance, to the end of the world. da, da da etc (could end up as some sort of instrumental?) I want to see behind the door.
