How long have you been playing?
I was 11 years old when i really started playing, 18 years ago. Musical ability runs in my family so i guess in one form or another it always came naturally.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
In Denton Texas at a place called "The Manor". The bands were "Smallcause" and "The Sillies". I was 10 or 11 years old. That show changed my life forever. My brother and some of his friends brought me along. I can never repay that.
What gear do you use?
Right now i have a Taylor 214 CE acoustic and a Takamine g-series dreadnought acoustic guitar. Also i have a gibson Epiphone les paul electric and an epiphone mini Explorer electric guitar. The taylor is by far the best guitar ive ever owned. Its gorgeous.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
A place to share my music with like-minded people, and receive feed back from other musicians.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
In the early 90's i would have to say Pearl jam was one of my biggest influences but that all changed when my brother turned me on to Two bands that would change and shape my life forever. A punk rock band called "the bolweevils" from chicago and a band called "PROPAGANDHI" from Canada. The Bolweevils melodic songs really hit home with me, i was hooked after one song. With PROPAGANDHI however, the sheer musical ability and everything they stood for really inspired me like no other. If not for my brother i would never have become so enlightened lol! Thanks bro!
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Ive played in multiple bands, spanning from the time i was 12 years old all the way to the present day.
There were a few bands that were better than average i would say. Like one that was called: "Die in plain sight" in which i played guitar and sang. And the other was formed soon after and it was called "in silence and shadows" in which i also played guitar and sang. For nearly a decade ive been working on my solo acoustic project which ive been quite happy with, writing Instrumentals and melodic acoustic songs. Ive recently began playing lead guitar with some good friends in a 90's Newschool pop punk band which is a lot of fun! We'll have something to listen to or take a look at pretty soon and ill share the links on my fandalism site for everyone to see.

If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Chris Hannah from the band "PROPAGANDHI" Because he's my hero when it comes to ability, style and song writing. No one has the power of the word like he does. Also the classical person inside me would love to jam with Andy Mckee who is in my opinion by far the most amazing finger-style acoustic guitar soloist of all time.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
The biggest audience ive ever performed for was probably close to 75 or 100 people. The smallest was 1.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Thats a very hard question. Honestly id bring one of my homemade compilation cds with a mixture of my favorite bands. If not that then an album called "Fat music for fat people" released by fat wreckchords in the 90's. Its the first punkrock album i ever heard and it changed my life musically.
An old photo taken at a show I was playing with the band i was in at the time.

My latest peice. A beautiful, touching song I wrote as an ode to the end of summer as the earth prepares herself for the coming fall.

A new song im writing with a friend. My friend sent me a single lead guitar track that he came up with and i thought it would be fun to see what i could come up with to add to it since he and i had never written together before. So the single guitar part at the very beginning is the part my friend wrote and sent to me. It also continues as sort of the backbone throught the song. And every other instrument that appears in the song are the parts i added to flesh it out and make it a full song. It was alot of fun, and im looking forward to doing more songs that way. Gives my soul a break from dredging up things from scratch, and inspires me greatly to continue dredging with new found anticipation. it invigorates my spirit. So Please enjoy this Serene, soothing new peice.

A remixed version of my latest song "A Lonesome Dream" where I went back and added a few things to try and give it a much fuller sound all around. I hope you enjoy it!

Ive been trying to work out a song that has seemingly been stuck on repeat in my mind. Whispering Over and over the major notes of this peice from somewhere deep within myself. Ive tried and failed many times to unlock the proper arrangement of the notes so that i might finally be able to move on to something fresh, something new...something else. Many of my previous attempts I have uploaded to sites like this one, and even my soundcloud page. Im sure it seems as though i dont know any chord progressions other than those 2, lol, and all i can say is that im sorry, that it was never my intention to broadcast what im sure turned out to be nothing more than the very long and very boring episode of my obsessive, AllConsuming song writing process, lol!
So let the latest of iterations be the final nail in the coffin of this specific Musical arrangement and note structure using B,C, & D

I remixed the music to one of my old songs called: "Not you" or "Its not you", and so far i thinks its turning out pretty good. No vocals on this mix, but they'll be on the final mix.

Id been working on this for a while, but the ending seemed to come all at once after my wife left on a week long road trip with her friend, and with our 10 year wedding anniversary being only 2 weeks away and very much on my mind. I was feeling sentimental and lonely. But those types of feelings are the best inspiration for me in my writing. So, here's to my wife, my best friend and partner on this winding road called life, in honor of our upcoming tinfinity.

The 4th in a series of celtic tributes to Ireland's folk hero Turlough O'Carolan, and his song "Si Baeg Si Mhor". This one is probably my best this far and is definately my favorite in the series. Im still figuring out the celtic style and i feel I learn something new each time i attempt it.

Written during a rather dark time in my life, after id all but given up on my songwriting and hadnt picked up my guitar in over a year. one night i decided to give it one last try and this song just seemed to pour out of my heart and write itself.

Cool little intro from Dracula, played by Bela Lugosi. I wanted to create something that would start out sort of dark and ominous, as a reflection of mortal man's often fearful impressions of the mysterious figure. Then as the peice progresses, i wanted to show the hidden nature of the vampire. Thus, the mood begins to change from the cold and dark exterior, peeling back the skin of that lifeless shell to reveal the heart of a man, full of emotion, remaining ever vigilant in the search for true love.

A better mix of my song called S.O.S. (same old story) with a new lead part that I wrote and recorded all last minute. Once I get better at mixing I'll post the final version which should be really good.

"IN SILENCE AND SHADOWS"
[Verse 1]
- Falling, the brightest stars won't burn forever
- Crawling, upon my knees, you know I'd never
Shattered like a stained glass on the floor
- Heart beats...in skips and leaps far out of rhythm
- Parts sweet, too tangible for us to miss them.
-Dark dreams, they fade away and now I wish you well..
[Chorus 1]
- I go insane..
- and cry out in-to the darkness
- Each time right before i fall..
- (Before I fall)
[V2:]
-Turn back The clock's cruel hands that bind me Find me,
-Off track,I cant keep up with what's behind me
-Take back the words that fell like firebrands on my ears, Confirmed my fears..
Ch 2:(Repeat CH1)
[Bridge(A)]
-I sit here in silence, Hope buried beneath me
-Nightmares behind eyelids, The beast that defeats me
-And I cry out "no not again, oh no please not this time!"
[Bridge(B)]
-In this asylum Awaiting the gallows
-I sit here in silence
In silence and shadows
-And I cry out, "Oh God, it's not my time!"
