What was the first concert you ever went to?
Jefferson Airplane and Iron Butterfly at the Westbury Music Fair on Long Island. I was probably around 9 or 10. I ran up to Grace Slick at the edge of the stage before they started playing and said "I'm going to be in a band one day" --kind of like when the kid in "A Christmas Story" tells Santa that he wants a Red Rider BB Gun. Grace was nice though and just said "oh good for you..."
What gear do you use?
57 Resissue Strat, Strat Ultra, Taylor C412 acoustic. Fender Amps, Eleven Rack, Pro Tools
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
To see and be motivated by great musicians who I would never otherwise get to know!!
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I played pretty steadily in Las Vegas for a long time, and for the past year and a half in San Francisco. I finally finished my first CD -- yeah!!-- and now I want to concentrate on songwriting for a while.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
What's an album? :) Man--I miss being able to hold and look at those album covers as you listen to music!! Now it seems we mostly listen on computer or ipod while we're doing something else and only half paying attention... But if for some reason I could only listen to 1 album it would probably be something like John Coltrane Giant Steps or Thelonius Monk Straight No Chaser because they blew my mind when I heard them and I would love to comprehend where they were coming from.
