Kenneth Scott was born into a well known and respected Chicago musical family. At Five years of age his father, blues legend, Buddy Scott placed a guitar in his hands and from that point on “Hollywood” became a master guitar player who could overwhelm an audience with the sounds he elicited from his Fender. He found himself playing on stage with both his father and his famous uncles, Walter and Howard Scott of the Scott Brothers World Band, at a very early age. Kenneth and his brother, Jerome, an accomplished bass player, joined their uncles as the tour band for Tyrone Davis. When his uncles decided to leave Tyrone to pursue other musical ventures, Hollywood and his brother formed the Platinum Band and decided to stay with Tyrone. Platinum, with Hollywood as their arranger, band leader, lead guitarist, and lead vocalist, not only became a very critical component for Tyrone Davis’s live performances but also performed as a separate unit with Kenneth as the lead vocalist for the band. Platinum has a reputation of thrilling audiences throughout the United States and Europe. It is no wonder they were named “Band of the year” and Hollywood was named “Entertainer of the year” by Blue Tone International. Hollywood has played with many well known artists besides Tyrone Davis, Otis Clay, Floyd Taylor, Willie Clayton, Sir Charles, Mel Waiters and The Chi-Lites. He also opened shows for artists such as B.B. King, Aretha Frankiln, and The Temptations. One of the most versatile vocalists and guitar players in the industry, Hollywood can not be boxed into any genre of music. He can go from Contemporary R&B, to R&B, to blues, to ballads in the blink of an eye. Hollywood’s unyielding passion for performing coupled with his charismatic personality and high energy performance carries an entire audience on a journey of musical satisfaction.
