Started playing steel guitar when I was 10 years old. Been playing professionally since I was 14. This instrument is a lifetime journey to becoming an accomplished player, which I believe I am.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Ernest Tubbs at the Silver Saddle in Pueblo, CO. I got to meet the band - Buddy Emmons and Leon Rhodes
What gear do you use?
I own a 1989 Franklin pedal steel D-10, 8&7, a 2010 Zumsteel pedal steel D-10, 8&7, the last Webb Amp built by Tom Bradshaw, Line 6 POD for effects, Hilton Volume Pedal, and a vintage lap steel.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
I'm hoping some really accomplished musicians who are up for establishing a really good country band, or an established country band made up of accomplished musicians will find me.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
That would be pedal steel players of course. My early influences were Jimmy Day, Buddy Emmons, and Ralph Mooney. Today my influences are Paul Franklin, Tommy White, and Mike Johnson, and Randall Curry.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Play off and on with Jones & Raine. Modern country. Play shows, private events, and a few club dates.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Paul Franklin............but I'd just sit and listen.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Country Thunder. Opened for Alan Jackson. Several 1000's of people.
