I've always loved singing, so I've been doing that for as long as I remember. I would jump up on my bed, hold a brush like a microphone, and pretend I was performing for a crowd. It wasn't until only a few years ago, when I was about 27, I realised I actually had a nice voice. That's when I started to sing even more, found myself an amazing singing coach, and really got into it. I've been hooked ever since...
I wrote my first song in 2010, and it didn't take long for me to get hooked on that either. The only problem was, I didn't play an instrument. Well, I've been playing piano since I was 12, but hadn't played for years, and didn't own a piano anyway. So, I began to teach myself to play guitar, and a few months later ukulele. That's going ahead really slowly, and I've been meaning to find myself a guitar tutor. So, watch this space...

I think that must've been the Night of the Proms, somewhere in high school, with a high school friend.

I absolutely loved 'De Strangers' growing up. My Dad has several of their records (yes, records, I'm THAT old! ;o) ), and I remember jumping on the sofa onto their tunes as a kid.
Then I got into music from the sixties, this time from CDs my parents bought (technology was a bit further advanced by that time). In my last years of high school I was introduced to Jewel (just her music, not the person), and she's stuck with me through the years.

Nope. Anyone nearby who wants to start a band with me? Or a band looking for a singer-songwriter?

I haven't performed a lot yet. The biggest audience was probably at my best friend's wedding. Somewhere between 50 and 100 people. In some ways that's also the smallest audience I performed to, because it felt like I was singing just for her and her husband.

Can I not just take my laptop, which has most of my music on it?? No? Please? OK, then I guess I would take Bob Marley & The Wailers - Greatest Hits. 'Cuz I'm assuming I'd be stuck on a tropical desert island, and that's a great album to play while enjoying the sunshine.
