How long have you been playing?
I was 16 or 17 years old when I picked up an old Takamine that belonged to my sister but hadn't been played ever. It only had 3 strings on it, and I started playing with them. I then went out and purchased new bridge pieces and a new pack of strings and restrung the instrument. That was 6 years ago, and it started my musical journey.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Tuesday March 10th, 2010. Eric Clapton at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. I went with my father who is also a huge Clapton fan. We had a great time and Slowhand hasn't lost a beat!
What gear do you use?
2008 Les Paul Studio w/ paintless mahogany stain finish. Frankenfender strat-copy converted into a full-time slide guitar. Generic Takamine (don't know make or model). VOX Valvetronix AD15VT. Pedals: Ernie Ball Wah Pedal, Ibanez Tube Screamer.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
A band.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
For the longest time Eric Clapton was my biggest influence. My father gave me a copy of "Unplugged" and I was hooked on the blues, and just started going back in time from there searching for the source of what the blues had become up to that point. Currently my favorite musician is Rory Gallagher because of his diversity, showmanship, brilliance, and true mastery and love of his craft.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
LOOKING. FOR. BAND.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Charlie Patton; To see first hand the differences between music 110 years ago and now.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Biggest probably around 50, smallest around 10. My most memorable performance was my first time on stage. It was in front of about 20 complete strangers, and I had just finished learning my first song, and how to sing, really. I got up on stage without any fear and this voice came out of me that I never knew I had.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
I would have to put my own album together. So many ties for first place.
