How long have you been playing?
Began with violin at age 8, then switched to piano and guitar at age 14, played rhythmguitar in various bands (Holland & Hong Kong), stopped music at age 20, then started again at age 50, when I wrote my first song called 'Moonlight'.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
The first concert I ever went to was our own concert (The Dregs, Hong Kong 1980) on top of the YMCA building.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
Fun, music, friendship.
What gear do you use?
(all lefty) Epiphone Vintage Sunburst II (favourite), Fender Squire (for gigs), '63 Bakers Tomahawk and a custom-made upgraded JD, Hendricson western, Fender acoustic bass, Roland Epiano and 2 violins (one electric and the 44 yr old violin from my youth)
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Mr. Winkel, my first-grade music teacher and fervent fan of the Dutch band 'Ekseption'
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Have been in rockbands long time ago, now solo.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Hotel California - The Eagles, and Ill be humming along all day instead of sobbing about the missing record player.

You asked me once why do you love me
twice you wondered why I care
three times you told me that I lied before
my answer babe it's in this song
it's coz with you I can't go wrong
your love has clearly shown me all I am
the stars they know what lies ahead
I don't so what I do instead is
give myself to them to you and
shine on all I see...
because heaven linked me up with you
such gift I simply can't refuse
so here you go babe you're the one for me
I love you because just one word
of thought from you 's enough for me
to cross ocean climb a mountain
don't care how steep
I love you because when you smile
I turn upside down and inside out
fly high and dive in
water oh so deep
the stars they know what lies ahead
I don't so what I do instead is
give myself to them to you and
shine on all I see...
because heaven linked me up with you
such gift I simply can't refuse
so here you go babe you're the one for me
I love you because when you look
at things that I see diff'rently
your magic makes them turn into
a new reality
I love you because God knows that
I trust you undividedly my belief
in you it equals your belief in me
the stars they know what lies ahead
I don't so what I do instead is
give myself to them to you and
shine on all I see...
because heaven linked me up with you
such gift I simply can't refuse
so here you go babe you're the one for me
I love you because physically
you're beautiful more beautiful than
any other girl I've ever seen
I love you because both our souls
in one-ness dance and smile at us
they teach us strength and show our destiny
the stars they know what lies ahead
I don't so what I do instead is
give myself to them to you and
shine on all I see...
because heaven linked me up with you
such gift I simply can't refuse
so here you go babe you're the one for me
I love you just because I do
so simple and oh yes so true
we make eachother laugh and love
in moonlight from above

Quand j'ai pas envie de rire
parmi des moments de faiblesse
je cherche les mots d'une chanson
une mélodie a mon secours
la seul façon de me parler
de tout ces trucs dans ma tête
pas d'aut' manière que par chanson
de te parler mon amour
c'est ce miracle dans le ciel
qui me donne tout les mots
qui me donne tout support
qui me fait construire ce pont
pour pouvoir te dire je t'aime
me trouver a ton coté
qu'on puisse vivre notre vie
c'est ce miracle dans le ciel
qui me donne tout les mots
qui me donne tout support
qui me fait construire ce pont
pour pouvoir te dire je t'aime
me trouver a ton coté
pour ainsi ne point me parler trop
ni jamais oublier cette chanson

ain't it amazing
oh babe the energy
called love that's you 'n me
all that's created
that endless source
of life of destiny
oh yeah so different you and I
put us together we are one
an endless source that can't be stopped
eternal light runs on and on
straight into heaven back to here
so far beyond all doubt all fear
and all the while we rest inside
eachother's heart eachothers mind
a powerhouse... that's what we are...
ain't it amazing
when I'm inside ya
all those things you make me see
all that's created
countless bursts of fire wild
that set me free
I feel it's there where I belong
there deep inside ya I am strong
that gift of you you're giving me
comes from those stars I clearly see
both born in heaven now we're here
so far beyond all doubt all fear
and all the while we rest inside
eachother's heart eachother's mind
a powerhouse... that's what we are...

IT'S THE FUTURE YOU'LL SEE
TAKE ME WITH YOU AND I'LL

DON'T MATTER WHERE WE'LL BE
THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME IN WITH YOU
FOR YOUR ENDLESS SUPPORT IN WHATEVER I DO

'Want You To Know'
© Marco Akamawa
though the sun shines bright
it's cold outside
light snow is falling
meltin' into rain
So I pull up my collar
dive deeper into my coat
wonder what you are doin' now
wondrous feelin' in my throat
...here I am
steadily walkin'
I'm on my own
and not alone
the road is long
in all its' beauty
I'm not alone
and on my own
though the man I am feels kinda lonely
wants to hurry he wants to rush
the soul that's me
can take things easy
coz the soul that's you
is my company
so here I am
steadily walkin'
I'm on my own
and not alone
the road is long
in all its' beauty
I'm not alone
and on my own
my heart it leads
my mind just listens
my legs they carry
your love for me
want you to know
I'll keep on walkin'
and don't be scared now
won't ever walk over you
I know your fears
as if my own
I know the heart-aches
that make you strong
want you to know
I'll always be walkin'
never be scared no
won't ever walk over you
so here I am steadily walkin'
I'm on my own and not alone
the road is long in all its' beauty
I'm not alone I know I'm not alone
