I've been writing music for nearly 20 years and have always used a computer to do it, though I sang at Carnegie Hall in college and have worked with artists like BT and Reeves Gabrels.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
The first concert I attended was a symphony or an opera with my parents. I enjoyed it but the first rock concert I went to was Steve Vai in Cleveland. I'll never forget that one. Brilliant.
What gear do you use?
I use a PC with various synths such as Omnisphere and for a controller a Clavinova. I use a Dean acoustic guitar and an Ibanez Jem custom.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
I've seen many pages like Reverb Nation and others attempt to increase visibility of artists, but the bottom line is they appear to be only for gigging musicians. I'm looking for something that allows writers to become successful through the internet.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Peter Gabriel is my greatest influence. After that, Dream Theater, Frost and Andrew Sega.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I am not in a band, but I play shows rarely, usually remixing video game soundtracks, either ones I have scored myself or 8 bit ones.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
If I had 5 years of straight practice at acoustic guitar I would want to jam with Paco DeLucia, John McGlaughlin and Al Dimeola. To me that is the height of musical expression and it doesn't use a computer at all.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Biggest audience was at Carnegie Hall in college performing with John Rutter conducting his "Te Deum". Crowd was in the hundreds.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Tough one. Probably Peter Gabriel's 16 Golden Greats album.
