How long have you been playing?
I have been writing songs since I was 11 year ago.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
My first concert was The O'Jays & The Whispers at the War Memorial (now Blue Cross Arena), Rochester, NY when I was 16. I went with my uncle and my cousin. Nothing much was memorable about it. The ones after it were.
What gear do you use?
A Roland JX-305 Groove Synth, computer, Acid Music Studio 8, Reason 4, and Pro Tools 8 music software. Also, my voice, a pen and a pad.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
Like minded people. People who love making music.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Their writing style made me want to be serious about songwriting and production.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
No.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Quincy Jones. I would learn so much about production, scoring movie soundtracks, and the business of music no one talks about.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Cross High School, Cross, S. Carolina homecoming, 1982. I think it was about 100 people. I performed "Endless Love" by Lionel Richie & Diana Ross with Paula Spann, a classmate. I was so nervous but people liked it so much, I got more opportunities to sing.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Mint Condition, Definition Of A Band, 1996. Every song shows what a real band with real songwriting and real singing chops.
