I began composing music at the age of seven when I learned to read and write music and began playing at nine when I was given a classical guitar.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
It was David Lindley with El Rayo-X at Greighallen in Bergen Norway. The band were rock solid and Mr. Lindley blew me away with his pedal steel playing and the deft melding of too many musical styles to count.
What gear do you use?
I have an early -70's Dean V that has been my main guitar for 25 years, a 19th century German violin, a 1951 Kay cello that can take any manner of abuse and suits my purpose for amplifying with a contact mike and sending through a wah pedal to a 100watt Laney amp. I have several Roland drum machines as well as a 303 and a Jupiter 4. My favorite piece to play, though is my early 1960's Klira violin body bass. It gives me a tone like none other.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I'm mainly known for Choronzon and Veil of Thorns, both of which have gone through a number of lineups. Choronzon has kicked around the Blackmetal scene, obscure areas of Industrial, and manages to be both of those and neither... Veil of Thorns is schizoid gothic with an equal love for country and hiphop, deathrock and oure electronics, digital and analog.
I have collaborated with Norwegian band Manes, and created kkoagulaa with Manes mastermind ccernn. I played cello on SLEEPCHAMBER musick magick master John Zewizz' solo album 2012 and am contributing to several with house artists anonymously...
