I started lessons when I was about fifty and have been at it for over ten years.
What gear do you use?
I like Ludwig drums and my Speedking foot pedal and I love, love, love my pink Ford snare drum!
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
I had bad taste and there was no music in the house where I grew up. Motown was big then and I heard it on the radio and at school dances. The Moss Brothers were a favorite staple at our sock hops and they played great soul music. I did like that kind of music, but also thought I likes Leslie Gore and Nancy Sinatra.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I am currently three months into playing with the Kelly Rose Band. We play country music from way back to current artists and anything else we feel like playing. I met the guitar player on Craig's list. We play local bars, benefits, and we will see what else.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
I would love to jam with anyone on the edge of jazz with groove music mixed in.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Probably less than one hundred. Most memorable performance to me was first time I played with Ripple because it was the first time ever playing with a band. Didn't do such a great job but I made it through. There was a bar fight that night and someone fell into my cymbals and spilled beer all over. Later that night I saw a meteorite shower.
