I was 18, I'd became fed up of just listening to music, thought it would be fun to play it too.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Manic Street Preachers, with my mates Sean, Paul and Monty. I did some crowd surfing too.
What gear do you use?
Epihone Thunderbird, and an SG.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Weezer, I loved the pop sensibility, allied to the beefy sound.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands? I've been in a variety of bands, Lunch with Stevies Monkey, The David Icke experience, and the Mink Stoles. Currently in Caravan Club and Universal Thee. I met all of those people (most of the members of Caravan Club excepted) at Uni in Dundee. I played gigs with the Mink Stoles, Caravan Club and Universal Thee.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Jeff Mangum, though I may be intimidated by his genius. Tim Wheeler, and Rivers Cuomo are heroes of mine too.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Caravan Club in Studio 24 Edinburgh, about 300. It was pretty memorable as we won a battle of the bands competition. Loads of friends and family were there. Made the occasion pretty special.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Ash 1977, in 1996. It's a selection of perfect power pop, with youthful vim and vigour.
