Bryn y Maen – Pete Evans Words & Music: Pete Evans Acoustic, Bass, Lead, Rhythm Guitars, Vocal: Pete Evans I wrote this song as I was sick and tired of the negativity and arguments between people on social media. Friends falling out if their political views were different and even unfriending each other. I got that I didn’t want to use Facebook as constant bickering popped up on my wall daily. So much false information and lies that the gullible readily take for granted. Well they read it on Facebook so it must be true! I am lucky that I can get away from it all to a place that has no Wi-Fi, a place of spectacular views, a place to share with nature. A hamlet above Colwyn Bay on the North Wales coast, Bryn y Maen

Words & Music - Pete Evans Acoustic, Bass, Electric Guitars, Vocals: Pete Evans 2015 A song that I wrote in 2015 but never recorded. Last year I visited both Paul McCartney's and John Lennon's childhood homes in Liverpool and as I stood in John's bedroom and looked out of his window I recalled some of the great songs he wrote Strawberry Fields, Imagine and Across The Universe. When when I was returning home I recalled this song and decided to record it. The song has been on Youtube for well over an year but for some reason I haven't posted it on Fandalism

Tears In The Valley (Remembering Aberfan) 2016 - Pete Evans The 21st October 2016 will be the 50th anniversary of the terrible tragedy which happened in Aberfan in South Wales. After a period of incessant rain a mountain of coal waste started to move. It moved towards the village and eventually smothered the school. The children had just left morning assembly and they had sung the hymn All Things Bright And Beautiful when disaster struck. 116 children and 28 adults perished that morning. I was just 14 that day in 1966 but I remember those images on TV vividly I originally posted this tribute in 2013 but I have added keyboards and bass

Guitourama - Pete Evans Acoustic, Bass, Electric Guitars, Keyboards: Pete Evans Join me on a tour of my music room. I have been asked on a few occasions what the Flying Vee guitar sounds like, it's a guitar I never use on my recordings not that it's a bad guitar, on the contrary it's an excellent axe which has been set up professionally by Yan at Wrexham Guitar. Here is a backing track of acoustic and bass guitars and an organ and each guitar, seventeen in total, has been recorded and overdubbed on the BT and a piano track added

I was discussing my music with a friend recently and mentioned the song and she encouraged me to record it. It's a fun song and I hope you enjoy listening to it

Heading For A Breakdown - Pete Evans 2016 Acoustic, Bass, Electric Guitars, Keyboards, Vocals: Pete Evans 2014/2015 was quite a difficult time in my life, I fell with my granddaughter and suffered a back injury, my father passed away, problems at home (not with my wife) which left me stressed out. I felt I had no help from work, my workload increased and for the umpteenth time my employer embarked on yet another work method! Although I asked for lighter duties nothing was done to help me. I eventually asked for early retirement which was accepted.

'57 Chevrolet - Don Borgal, Pete Evans Words & Music: Don Bowling Originally Performed by Billie Jo Spears Bass Guitar: Don Borgal Guitars & Vocal: Pete Evans Although '57 Chevrolet was a huge hit for Billy Jo Spears in the U.S. Country Music charts it had little success in the U.K. I came across the song on a country music vinyl sampler sometime in the early '80's which also had songs from Dolly Parton, Glenn Campbell and others. This song had something that stayed with me. Late 2015 I was saddened to learn of Billy Jo's passing in 2011, I had no idea of her death and I recalled this song. Since childhood I always loved old American cars and I remember the old Cadillacs, Fords and Chevrolets with their huge tail fins. My good friend in Canada Don Borgal is a massive old car fan and runs a vintage car club in Canada and I asked him if he wanted to collaborate again. Don didn't need any persuading so here is our version of '57 Chevrolet and I dedicate it to the memory of Billy Jo

Earth Angel - Teri Evans, Pete Evans Lyrics: Teri Evans Music: Pete Evans Bass, Electro-Acoustic Guitars, Keyboards, Vocals: Pete Evans Teri offered me this poem that she had written and asked if it could be made into a song with a mystical melody. I had recently composed this melody to use on another song and I picked it out on an acoustic guitar and it fitted with very little modification to the words. The music uses four different keyboard tracks, bass guitar, electro-acoustic guitar and two separate vocal tracks Video courtesy Vimeo: Christmas Fairy by Cosima Photo courtesy Google: Elemental Earth Angel by Charlotte Phillips

A Voice On The Phone - Bob Clements, Alan Jones, Pete Evans This song originated out of a Facebook conversation among the three of us. We basically discussed chord progressions in song structure but Alan worked on the chord progression the following day and sent us a demo! Alan had some thoughts about the lyric around a chorus he'd written and asked me to write something suitable. Alan sang the chorus and I sang the verses, I played the bass but Bob arranged all the instrumentation and production. I produced the video.

A Little Bit Of Love - Peter Evans, Yvalain This song was born after I realised that in 2015 John Lennon would have been 75 on October 09th and also it would be 35 years since his murder in 1980. John was a major peace campaigner but so little has changed since his death. Terrorism attacks, countries at war, killing children attending their schools, murders and violence increasing; when is it going to end? I sent a rough demo to Yvalain for his attention and hoped we could collaborate and publish the song in time for Christmas. As always Yvalain has made a truly amazing production. Many thanks Yvalain

Story Of My Life – Nicole Cahill & Pete Evans A few days ago a new member to Musicians Free Space (on Facebook) posted some lyrics to a song she had written and asked if someone could compose a song for them. I could really feel her lyrics and could feel the melody. Nicole told me that it was the first time she had heard her lyrics brought to life. I had no idea at that time Nic's age, I still don't! But her Mum Mairead thanked me the next day and said how much it meant to Nicole. She explained about Nic's disablement. I am so humbled and proud to have brought a smile to that young lady's face. This is your song Nicole xx

Deja Vu - Pete Evans & Alan Stig Jones The Experiment (Deja Vu) This song is dedicated to the memory of Peter Papp who sadly passed away on the 12 April 2015. Pappy undoubtedly would have been part of the Experiment. I'll miss his friendship, music, wit and enthusiasm R.I.P. Pappy Music: Alan 'Stig' Jones Lyrics: Pete Evans Rhythm Guitar: Alan 'Stig' Jones Bass, Lead Guitar & Vocal: Pete Evans I was invited to take part in a global project that is the brain child of Pat Clarke from Manchester and Alan Jones of London which they entitled The Experiment. Basically I was sent a backing track entitled "new song 2" which was composed by Alan Jones' and featured him playing a rythym guitar. I was asked to write a lyric based on my interpretation of his guitar part. Originally I started to write a song called 'Spoon's Blues based on that doyen of modern British culture...the Wetherspoon pub chain! Cheap ale is so attractive...But the more I listened to it I could feel the track had an early sixties feel about it and so I used lyrics that I had written for an original song called Deja Vu about 5 or 6 years ago after Fiat released the new Fiat 500. The song had an entirely different melody but I had only ever roughly recorded it. So essentially it's an old song brought up to date in a new melody! Deja vu! I've added bass and a '60's sounding lead guitar. I have just finished writing and recording this song which is about the sickening trade of money-lending where the poorest and most vulnerable in society face a life of debt because of the obscene interest rates charged by these scum traders. The guitars I used are a Lorenzo Flame Series, a cheap Chinese electro-acoustic which I used extensively to compose my Alice's Adventures concept album and also a Hondo HLP using both pickups. 2015

I recorded No More Sadness two years ago and posted the audio track on Fandalism via Soundcloud. Recently I reduced my Soundcloud songs and I removed this erroneously but I still had the original video which had never been shown. I've added a little wah and a bass guitar. I hope you like it Guitars, Bass & Vocal: Pete Evans

As I wrote Cold Wind Blowing I realised how much I've missed my Mum. I had visited her in Walton Hospital in Liverpool just hours before she died in 1978; Mum drifted in and out of consciousness that afternoon but I thought she would make it. I just wish I could have had some more time alone with her. I never got chance to tell her I loved her 12 string, 6 string acoustic, Bass, vocal: Pete Evans

Bye Bye Blues - Pete Evans & Franck Szypura While on holiday in Devon in June 2014, I was sat on the deck looking the ocean at my son's holiday home and picking out a melody for a song I was writing. Then a motorcyclist pulled up, removed his helmet and asked did I play any blues. Yes I replied. Well go on then, play some blues he asked. LOL Well this is how this song started life, just a simple blues in E with added G. I ad libbed some lyrics and off he went seemingly contented! I finished the song and recorded it; added bass and sent it to Francky. I knew he had suffered a family bereavement but I thought it may help him to take his mind from his grief. Many thanks for your work on this Franck Delighted then to offer another collaboration with my truly fantastic friend and blues brother Franck Szypura.

Brain Damage/Eclipse: Roger Waters My first published recording was an instrumental version of Brain Damage from Pink Floyd. I decided to re-record the song and add vocal, bass and extra guitar fills. Then I thought I wish I'd recorded Eclipse at the same time! So I did two recordings and joined them, it's not perfect I know but I hope it's not too bad I acknowledge that I have no rights to this music

Cold Wind Blowing There's nothing in the world quite like the feeling of holding a new born baby in your arms. My eldest son Kevin was born on the 20th June 1975 and my second son Martin was born on the 10th February 1978. The emotion of holding a child, your child, just after birth is so surreal. This song is about those two occasions which was repeated for me on the 22nd June 2009 when my granddaughter Amarissa Jane was born. I love you all. The title of the song Cold Wind Blowing is a reference to my dear mother who was buried on a bitterly cold day on the 09th February 1978 when, after her funeral, I rushed to the hospital for Martin's birth later that evening. A real mixture of emotions for Diane and I on that day

Let Me See You Smile - Pete Evans This is the second song I wrote about the effects of bulling; this time it is about cyber-bullying. It was written for a dear friend of mine and a great favourite here on Fandalism when I heard she had recently been bullied online. For you G xx

Stop Bullying - Pete Evans This the first of two songs I wrote about the effects of bullying. It's a subject that has disturbed me for some time now, the act of school bullying. All forms are unacceptable but I detest child bullying.

Crime Of Passion (The Ballad of William Lovelock) - Pete Evans & Pat Clarke Written by Pete Evans, Guitar & Vocal by Pete Evans. Harmonica by Pat Clarke. I stumbled across this story by accident whilst researching material for another song and the story intrigued me. This song tells the true story of William Henry Lovelock, a soldier who in 1941 came home on leave to find his wife in bed with her lover. In self defence he shot them both with the pistol they had acquired to shoot him. He was subsequently cleared of murder but guilty of manslaughter. Many thanks to Pat Clarke for accompanying me on this song

I wrote this song purely with a collaboration in mind for Don Borgal (Canada) and Franck Szypura (France). The three of us are huge car enthusiasts and especially old American motors. This song features our favourite cars on an imaginary nostalgic trip on the old Route 66. National Memorial Arboretum is a poem written by ex-serviceman David Lilburn MBE as a mark of respect to the memory of fellow servicemen and women killed on duty. The Arboretum in Lichfield, Staffordshire was opened in 2001 and commemorates service-people who have been killed on duty or as a result of terrorism from from the end of WW2 to the current day. There are 15,000 names carved into the wall. Thank you David for allowing me to use your poem for this song As today is Memorial day in The United States I thought David's poem a fitting tribute for service personnel everywhere
