FRIENDS FROM a DISTANCE - Guitar
~ Imperfection~
Uploaded 8 years ago
How long have you been playing?
Bought a guitar from a friend when I was Fourteen and learned by playing to Rolling Stones "Exile On Main Street" LP with a song book. Influenced by live bands while working as a Dishwasher behind the bar in a club in Williams Lake B.C. --summer of "72. Worked for Circle of Sound Records & Tapes, a promoter and distributer and became immersed.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I believe the first real concert I went to was George Harrison, followed closely by Rolling Stones "It's Only Rockn' Roll Tour"
What gear do you use?
Gibson J45, Guild 12 String, Lee Oskar Harmonicas. Picked up J45 Gibson in Long & McQuade Music store --it was love at first touch.....And recently Breedlove 12 String...Surprisingly nice feel
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Current band = "Friends From a Distance", formerly "BC's Idyll Muse" & "Alberts, Carlo Brownlee".
I am AudioSexual.Those unable to control creative musical impulses are identified as "AudioSexual". AudioSexuals desire a creative musical experience sequestered in an intimate space, nurturing lyric, tune and performance, to the detriment of, well, almost everything! AudioSexuality can be unhealthy, disturbing, hard on relationships, the ego, and the soul. It can also be passionate, fulfilling, therapeutic, and rewarding (hardly ever financially). It is addictive. Self-destructive. Often closeted, the AudioSexual can become introverted and alone, working their craft for a worthy offering to the fans. Sometimes fearing rejection & ridicule, they find it more comfortable to solo digitally or acoustically. The most satisfying AudioSex-ing for me, is to come together with others equally crazed, infinitely more talented. Cultivating lyric and tune, honing and maturing them into pieces of AudioArt, enhanced by the intoxication of their own spirit & soul robbing AudioSexual tendencies.
Alas, my AudioSexual friends, we cloister together once more; self-soothing has been's, wanna-be's, and never were's or will be's;
"Hello, my name is Brian I am AudioSexual".......

If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Roger Waters- borrowing his production techniques. I think he knows how to present the drama in lyric & tune.

Original Song "The Ballad of Johnny C" featuring Video from The Johnny Ca... read moresh Project. Johnny Cash transcended all boundries. This song was written years ago and recorded spontaneously in an analog home studio after a scheduled session for an other song, which I think helps with the strong emotion and honesty of the recording - the way a Johnny C inspired tune should be.

"Since 1957", "Great lyric and cruisey feel, invoking nostalgia. Especially like the change-up... read more around 5:10. It's a long song, and could have become repetitive and been mistaken for some C&W dross without the change of pace".....Indie Music Review
