I took my first guitar lesson at the age of eight,(two lessons, then quit), picked it up again as a teenager for a couple of years, learning from watching friends play. Put it down again for about 20 years and finally started playing/creating again, approximately 6 years ago..
What was the first concert you ever went to?
First big concert may have been Platinum Blonde in 1984, although I had attended many music oriented folk festivals prior to this concert. I went with two school friends. Most memorable part of it, the whole crowd all singing along without missing a beat, IT WAS AWESOME to feel!
What gear do you use?
Oh my, too difficult to answer ... um, well I own over 20 miscellaneous instrument, mostly stringed (if it has strings, I'll play it, my way!). I have two favorites, my 1972 Matsumoku copy of the 1956 Les Paul 'Black Beauty' and my 2006 Salvador Ibanez Acoustic/Electric Classical Guitar.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
Inspiration, and I have, but even better than that, I have discovered some absolutely fantastic people/musicians/friends on this site!!
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Likely Pink Floyd, introduced to them by my oldest brother when I was 12. Though I have always loved music of all kinds, the power of classical, the spirit of folk/gospel, the intensity of rock, the romance of gothic and ambient, and the ever so awesome groove of funk/dance/edm!
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Not in a band, never have been, just kind of do my own thing. I have collaborated on a few times with some Awesome Musicians here on Fandalism, the spectacular TompazJam, and my old friend and another phenomenal Musician Infectious Descendant. Both of these musicians are here on Fandalism!
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
John Corsaro, on percussion, Estas Tonne on guitar, Bob Roha on Bass and there are a few synth players here on Fandalism that would fit the bill as well!
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Being an ambient improvisational player, I am the "background noise" guitar player at small gatherings of friends, at the very most. Audiences of no more than a dozen, so far, though many offers have been made for me to play in venues, I play because I feel, and I play to express what I am feeling, so far, I haven't felt enough in any venue to desire to play, if that makes sense to anyone but me.
