What was the first concert you ever went to?
Queen
What gear do you use?
I am a huge Taylor fan (814ce, T5), although I just purchased my first Martin (GPCPA3) and it is also amazing...also use a Yamaha MM8 keyboard and a Korg synth, as well as Logic (DAW) with a VAST variety of plug-ins...lol...
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Carol King, Jim Croce, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Seals and Crofts, America, Simon and Garfunkel, Carpenters, Eagles, so many more.....
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Performed National Anthem for Kings, Angels, Dodgers, Padres, Chargers, Galaxy, Santa Anita, and more - biggest live audience was 40,000 (not including TV viewers - kinda scary!)
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Eagles Hotel California - - I will never get tired of hearing it

Mary Did You Know? (Cover) by Darcy Jeavons - LYRIC VIDEO...It's been soooo long since I have posted here on Fandalism! But, since it is the season, I thought I would share this cool "doodle" lyric video of my rendition of this fave Christmas song. I produced/recorded this three years ago, and have learned so much since then about mixing/recording/editing...but this still will always be one of my favorite projects. I now work on mixes/productions for clients more than my own songs, lol, but I would not change that at all! Working on others' music is a fantastic way to grow as a mix engineer. This coming year I will be working on more of my own music (maybe, haha). Thanks so much for visiting, and come visit the Female Mixing Engineers Music Podcast:) https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/female-mixing-engineers-music-podcast/id1262906737?mt=2&ls=1

So the New Year is a time for setting new goals — I always find this a bit of an intimidating yet extremely exciting tradition! One of my resolutions this year is to produce 4 new singles of my own original songs. I am a singer/songwriter at the core of my earthly existence, and with the skills I have refined through the production, editing, and mixing of such great music over the past few years (and I LOVE working on the music I get to work on!), I figure it’s time to try fit in work on my own songs, lol. I will be releasing brand new originals, as well as new arrangements and productions of past releases. To all of you that listen and support my music, words just can’t express how much you mean to me! I am truly blessed. Thank you for being there. Here is song #1 towards my resolution:
Unspoken
An acoustic journey that has been brought to life with the amazing talents of fabulous musicians. I am honored that I had great artists working with me on this release, and each one brought an irreplaceable sound to this emotional song. Special credits go to
Matthew Darren — Background Vocals
Drew Middleton — Acoustic Guitar/Acoustic Piano
Steve Lucier — Electric Guitar
Song written, performed, produced, and mixed by Darcy Jeavons/Broad Productionz
Mastered by Drew Middleton/Nashville Demo Factory
Unspoken
Please don’t ask me what is on my mind
Please don’t look into my eyes ‘cause then you’ll find
something that I don’t want you to see
Today emotion’s got the best of me
I fight not to feel ev’ry day
Pretend my lips don’t know the words they want to say
But this agony would not compare to a world without you there
So I’ll take a breath and I will be okay
My dreams must remain unspoken
You’ve made vows that can’t be broken
She must feel the same way that I do
We will go on bein’ friends and
I’ll make sure that never ends
‘cause I won’t ever say the words, “I love....”
…You can’t have someone who isn’t yours
I tell this to my heart, but it just ignores
the diff’rence between right and wrong ev’ry time you come along
I’m so afraid you’ll find out I want more
My dreams must remain unspoken
You’ve made vows that can’t be broken
She must feel the same way that I do
We will go on bein’ friends and
I’ll make sure that never ends
‘cause I won’t ever say the words, “I love….”
My dreams must remain unspoken
You’ve made vows that can’t be broken
She must feel the same way that I do
We will go on bein’ friends and
I’ll make sure that never ends
‘cause I won’t ever say the words, “I love….”
I love

He Could've Worn Gold (Original) When I wrote this song two years ago, I would close my eyes and picture myself sitting on a stool with my guitar — and a huge orchestra and choir joining in. This year, I wanted to bring a more "epic" sound to the production, and I will always thank Jesus Christ for His inspiration — and His Love. <3
So honored that Women of Substance Radio will be including this new remixed/remastered version on their Sunday Night Holiday Show! They will be airing this song for a whole month on Sundays at 5pm (PST). I am very grateful to be included in this programming — the music they air is top notch! I downloaded their app, and listening to all the talented women musicians throughout my day is so inspiring. Thank you again, WOSRadio! http://www.wosradio.com/
A special thanks to Jason Mark Yates for his awesome lead guitar lines throughout the song, which add the perfect touch....

He Could've Worn Gold
He was born among the sinning
Into such humble beginning
A Holy Prince to walk among all men
Not ruling from a royal tower
Wielding His amazing power
This Savior came so we could live again
A King was born a King to die
On that morn — not in a palace high —
But in a manger, in a stable,
This Son of God was able
To give new life to a world so lost and cold
This tiny King
He could've worn gold
He'd wear a crown without one gem
This infant born in Bethlehem
Would rise to reign with majesty above
This little babe, who in one hand
Held divine strength at His command
Had come to share only the strength of Love
A King was born a King to die
On that morn — not in a palace high —
But in a manger, in a stable,
This Son of God was able
To give new life to a world so lost and cold
This tiny King
He could've worn gold
He would not live beyond our reach
A star would guide to where He lay
To behold this precious gift from Heaven
Our Truth — our Light — our Way
A King was born a King to die
On that morn — not in a palace high —
But in a manger, in a stable,
This Son of God was able
To give new life to a world so lost and cold
This mighty King
He could've worn gold

Bait That Hook
Fishin’ for a little fun
In heels care of Louis Vuitton
This sport requires a mini skirt
and Chanel under my red silk shirt
Cast the line
Work the lure
Things could get wet for sure
Bait that hook
Reel you in
Bait that hook
I want some fin
Bait that hook
Then throw you back
Don’t worry, hon —
I just want a snack
I don’t think of you as prey
Sit down — let’ sip some Chardonnay
Catch and release - it’s just a game
I promise I won’t forget your name
Cast the line
Work the lure
Things could get wet for sure
Bait that hook
Reel you in
Bait that hook
I want some fin
Bait that hook
Then throw you back
Don’t worry, hon —
I just want a snack
Watch out for nets, baby, beware
They’ll lock you up in Tupperware
Is that a nibble on my pole?
There’s action at this water hole
Cast the line
Work the lure
Things could get wet for sure
Bait that hook
Reel you in
Bait that hook
I want some fin
Bait that hook
Then throw you back
Don’t worry, hon —
I just want a snack

Celebrating the wedding of my sweet baby girl, Carly — to her wonderful soulmate, Joseph. I think that this song was inspired by a love that is almost impossible to put into words — but here is my musical offering for this magical occasion. May this time be filled with so much joy for both of you….my heart wants to dance!
Music and Lyrics by Darcy Jeavons
Performed, Arranged, and Produced by Darcy Jeavons
Inspired by the Love of Carly and Joseph — My baby girl and her Prince Charming…<3
Love Her More Than I Do
She’s walkin’ down the aisle to you
With somthin’ borrowed and somethin’ blue
And her new dream
as old as fairytales
You’re her ticket to the stars
With you she sees no question marks
That’s my baby girl
under that wedding veil
It may be unsolicited advice
But here’s a few words I gotta toss with the rice
Try to love her more than I do
Try to love her more than I do
This mother’s love is stronger than anything
If you love her even half as much
She’s got the right man’s ring
I’m just sayin’ — and I’m prayin you’ll
Try to love her more than I do
By now you know her perfect flaws
That she holds out hope for Santa Claus
And that just the smell
of celery makes her ill
My sleeves would dry her tiny tears
We screamed a road through teenage years
My love for her is so
Unconditional
And now your journey with her has begun
Here’s some words of wisdom for the road, my son —
Try to love her more than I do
Try to love her more than I do
This mother’s love is stronger than anything
If you love her even half as much
She’s got the right man’s ring
I’m just sayin’ — and I’m prayin you’ll
Try to love her more than I do
Try to love her more than I do
Try to love her more than I do
This mother’s love is stronger than anything
If you love her even half as much
She’s got the right man’s ring
I’m just sayin’ — and I’m prayin' you’ll
Try to love her more than I do

Love Like There’s No Tomorrow (Original by Yates and Jeavons) Our newest song! A musical reminder that it is the people in our lives that are important — not the “stuff” — and singing along is recommended (lolol) — upbeat and fun! Thanks so much for listening:)
Music and Lyrics by Yates & Jeavons
Performed by Yates & Jeavons
Produced and Arranged by Darcy Jeavons
Love Like There’s No Tomorrow
If the world was gonna end forever,
and the sun was gonna leave the sky
And you had a moment to regret
the things you didn’t say before you died
You’d try to find that special someone
To tell ‘em how you truly feel
But unfortunately, you wouldn’t have enough time
A lesson learned to late would reveal —
You’ve gotta love like there’s no tomorrow
Live like there’s only today
Love like there’s no tomorrow
There just ain’t no better way
If the doctor said your days were numbered,
So you set your way to make amends
And you gave a hug and said “I’m sorry”
To family and long lost friends —
Then you live until you were one hundred
With the power of a loving heart
And with people you might not have known
Oh, thank Heaven for a brand new start —
You’ve gotta love like there’s no tomorrow
Live like there’s only today
Love like there’s no tomorrow
There just ain’t no better way
Love like there’s no tomorrow
Live like there’s only today
Love like there’s no tomorrow
There just ain’t no better way
Love, love love — love, love, that’s livin’
Love, love love — love, love, that’s livin’
Love, love love — love, love, that’s livin’
Love, love love — love, love,
Now you’re livin’
Love like there’s no tomorrow
Live like there’s only today
Love like there’s no tomorrow
There just ain’t no better way
Love like there’s no tomorrow
Live like there’s only today
Love like there’s no tomorrow
There just ain’t no better way

“Courage” an Original by John Herote and Darcy Jeavons…(Repost May 2014) This is a message aimed at young people (or anyone) to help them stand up for who they are and what they believe is right. Sometimes we get caught up with the wrong crowd, but we all have the courage to get out — we just have to find it, and believe.....
Thank you to the wonderful young ladies who are the stars of the video....Everyone contributed their time and effort without any monetary reward — because they all believed in this message. So wonderful:)

COURAGE
Courage you need for fighting
But fear is whispering and waiting
waiting for your heart to run — and then
laughs — ‘cause you are weak again
You’re paralyzed, unable to move
But fear won’t win — it’s time to prove...
…even though I’m in the shadow
of the darkness you are spreading on me
My lips may not be moving, but soon
my voice will win
My reflection says I’m right
Oh, in my eyes I see the light
Who I am I will be
only when I live free
of the world shame made for me
Then I will know victory
Far from home I was running
Feeling all alone and worthless
You appeared and seemed to know it all
’til my tears began to fall
I thought you were so cool
But now I know — I’m not a fool
Who I am I will be
only when I live free
of the world shame made for me
Then I will know victory
I cannot help but hate you
and I I know my day is coming
But I never can forget
Revenge only brings regret
So now I wait silently
For when that door is opening for me
The day is drawing near
I will overcome the fear
The real me will show —
the “me” my dreams know
and you will know her too
it’s because of you
That I have come to see
Courage lives inside of me

Knock Down My Door (Original) by Yates and Jeavons — Our newest song release. So much went into this acoustic/pop song! Over 110 original tracks of instruments and vocals. One of my favorite adventures in mixing is creating/grouping the vocal harmonies, which is probably very evident in this song. Jason and I had a blast writing this, and this is dedicated everyone who refuses to let past relationships harden their hearts — love could come knockin’ tomorrow, or even today:)

Knock Down My Door
Didn’t think I’d get out of bed
Didn’t wanna go outside
But layin’ there just messed with my head
Thinkin’ of all the girls who lied
(CHORUS)
So if somebody can be somebody
To reach deep down inside of me
When somebody can be somebody
Knock down my door
Set me free
Maybe I’m a little naíve
Could explain why I’ve been burned
But I won’t fight this need to believe
and salvage love with what I’ve learned
(CHORUS)
So if somebody can be somebody
To reach deep down inside of me
When somebody can be somebody
Knock down my door
Set me free
Set me free
Set me free
(END CHORUS)
So if somebody can be somebody
To reach deep down inside of me
When somebody can be somebody
Knock down my door
Set me free
So if somebody can be somebody
To reach deep down inside of me
When somebody can be somebody
Knock down my door
Set me free

My Little Girl and Boy
I can’t seem to remember how I lived my life before
A day without a favorite doll or friendly dinosaur
Or pictures proudly hanging on the fridge made just for me
Or a time I didn’t soothe a scrape upon a knee
I was born again with you and started down a road
Where the words “I love you” mean much more each time they’re told
You take me to a world with you where make-believe is real
And show me joy in simple things that somehow years can steal
I tuck you in at night
You gently hold my hand
You say, “Leave on the light...”
Of course, I understand
And if a monster does appear I’ll make it go away
I’ll be your friend tomorrow when
No one comes out to play
I’ll guide you through each storm
Today and when you’ve grown
I’ll keep you safe and warm
I’ll let you fly alone
Remember there is nothing with the power to destroy
My love for you
My little girl and boy
A princess with red hair in curls whose smile could light the earth
A soldier strong with hair of brown guards castles made of dirt
I’d give my life, my very breath if ever I had to
Protect you both from harm, there’s nothing I would not do
Ev’ry hug, ev’ry kiss - nothing compares to this
Ev’ry tear, ev’ry fall, I will be there
Through it all

Here I stand, reaching for You
Oh my Lord, I’m begging You, save my life I pray
I surrender all to You, Lord show me the way
All I want is You (Jesus), You, You, You
All I want is You (Jesus), You, You, You
On my knees, I am calling for You
Savior please, help get me through the darkness that I see
I’m alone, I need You now, oh my Lord rescue me
All I want is You (Jesus), You, You, You
All I want is You (Jesus), You, You, You
You’re the glory of my life, a Light exploding in the night
Oh the love You bring, Lord You are my everything
Make Your home in my heart
We cannot be torn apart
With each tear You let me know You will never let me go
All I want is You
All I want is You
All I want is You, ……Jesus…… Jesus

MY HERO
A damsel in distress I never thought I’d ever be
I guess I didn’t know how hurt I was
A brave knight on his white horse came to slay the enemy
Of course - I’m hopelessly romantic all because
You rode into my world with your love, and saved my life
You conquered fears that tore my heart apart just like a knife
I’m safe because you’re near, oh,
my real life cavalier
I understand You’re just a man
But you’re my hero
No fire breathing dragons left alive, you got ‘em all
You’ve won, and now this maiden has been freed, yeah
I kinda got you on this pedestal but don’t worry, babe
It’s who I see beneath that shining armor that I need
You rode into my world with your love, and saved my life
You conquered fears that tore my heart apart just like a knife
I’m safe because you’re near, oh,
my real life cavalier
I understand You’re just a man
But you’re my hero
I know you’ll have to fight your own battles, too
But not alone - ‘cause I need days
When I can rescue you
You rode into my world with your love, and saved my life
You conquered fears that tore my heart apart just like a knife
I’m safe because you’re near, oh,
my real life cavalier
I understand
You’re just a man
But you’re my hero

If You Were Mine (Original) Production 2014 — This song was originally posted as a live guitar/vocal acoustic version. Then, the very talented Steve Lucier took the track and produced an amazing arrangement of the song in 2012. So now, this version takes the next steps: New,separate vocal and guitar tracks (with harmony), a few new instruments and some new production elements and textures. Steve is an amazing musician, and co-producing this version with him was a blast! I have always had a special place in my heart for this song, and I can’t thank Steve enough for adding his unique touch to the sound. Thank you to everyone for listening:)

If You Were Mine
If you were mine
Each day you would awaken with a kiss
If you were mine
You’d have a friend through pain and hopelessness
I’d help your heart remember how to feel
The kind of love you’d stopped believing could be real
Forever I’d believe in you and all you tried
I’d make you smile, I’d lift your soul
When life would test your pride
All of my dedication
And a love to withstand all of time
This would be yours
If you were mine
If you were mine
I’d dream your dreams as if they were my own
If you were mine, oh
I’d be ev’ry fantasy you’ve known
And in despair if there was nothing I could do
I’d close my eyes and say a prayer
And faithfully stand by you
Forever I’d believe in you and all you tried
I’d make you smile, I’d lift your soul
When life would test your pride
All of my dedication
And a love to withstand all of time
This would be yours
If you were mine

Courage (Original) An epic song composed by John Herote, with lyrics by Darcy Jeavons. The story behind this powerful melody is one of overcoming the grasp of gang life — and finding the courage to escape an existence that too many are pulled into. This song is a message to anyone in any terrible situation: Courage exists within us all. It has been a privilege to work with John Herote on this song, and there are plans for an original music video next year. Thank you for listening:)

With a VERY Special Thank You To Jason Mark Yates………….
I see you, but we can’t touch
I want you more than too much
My fingers know you are far
And ache to hold you where you are
The miles keep me like a wall
Back from love where I could fall
Though sometimes I’d swear you’re near
Reality is, you’re not here…
So I’ve been thinking what it is I’d do
To spend even one day with you
I’d give up dreams, and all this make-believe
To touch your skin, to hold your hand
I’m beginning now to understand
that I’d do anything
To feel you breathe
Your voice is just a call away
But sometimes words all fall away
And fantasies begin to start
But won’t be real ‘cause we’re apart
I only want one day to feel right
But I’d give even more
to have one night
So I’ve been thinking g what it is I’d do
To spend even one day with you
I’d give up dreams, and all this make-believe
To touch your skin, to hold your hand
I’m beginning now to understand
that I’d do anything
To feel you breathe

What if jasmine didn’t drift
on the springtime air…
What if walking in the rain
never washed away a care…
What if smiles were never shared,
what if hands could never touch –
What if nothing really mattered very much…
What if blue just disappeared
and the clouds all flew away
Would things be seen more clearly
with nothing in the bright sun’s way.…
What if falling snow melted before
it blanketed the winter ground –
What if somebody was lost and never found….
What if children couldn’t wish
What if lovers never knew
How a heart grows wings
When a dream comes true
What if everything that is
Was not the way it was
What if people only lived…..
just because….
What if joy ran out of tears,
what if lips could never touch
What if nothing really mattered very much …
What if children couldn’t wish
What if lovers never knew
How a heart grows wings
When a dream comes true
What if everything that is
Was not the way it was
What if people only lived….
just because….
What if we only lived…
just because…?

I Am Gonna Tell (Original) The Video (One Year Anniversary Re-release- August 2013)
Written by Darcy Jeavons
Lead Vocal by Alani Claire
Background Vocals by Darcy Jeavons
and Matthew Darren Nuss
This is a rerelease of a song that made it’s debut one year ago. It has been heard by tens of thousands - and I feel that it needs to be released again to reach more ears. This project would never have come to life without the talents of all involved, and would never have begun without the endless supply of God’ grace. Alani’s sweet and soulful rendition of this song will speak to those who need help…....My wish and prayer is that it reaches the victims who can find hope in its message, and that it gives strength and courage to the hearts that have been painfully abused…
Love truly does exist….and there is help…..

I Am Gonna Tell
Your secret isn’t safe with me
‘Cause God’s been watchin’ from above
He sent His angels to help me see
That what you’re showin’ isn’t love
It’s not my fault - I get that now
The pain you cause I won’t allow
You may believe that I am weak
But you’ll know I’m strong when my lips speak -
Maybe I will whisper maybe I will yell
I’m not stayin’ quiet I am gonna tell
Maybe I will whisper maybe I will yell
I’m not stayin’ quiet I am gonna tell
It felt like I was on my own
Thought no one else would understand
But I found out I’m not alone
This won’t turn out the way you planned
It’s not my fault - I get that now
The pain you cause I won’t allow
You may believe that I am weak
But you’ll know I’m strong when my lips speak -
Maybe I will whisper maybe I will yell
I’m not stayin’ quiet I am gonna tell
Maybe I will whisper maybe I will yell
I’m not stayin’ quiet I am gonna tell

So Into You
I’m distracted, yeah it’s true
Guess I’ve just reacted to
The way that I’m attracted to you now
Disconnected, maybe so
My mind’s infected with you, oh,
It’s gotta be expected, because of how
I’m so into those big blue eyes
I’m so into your yearning sighs
I’m so into the way we met
I’m so into things we’ve not done yet
I’m so into how you hold me, oh
I’m so into the way you told me,
“Oooooh, I’m so into you”.....
I’ve surrendered to your powers
Can’t remember days or hours
You’re the center of my ev’ry thought
I’m relying on your touch
That’s supplying me with such a rush
There is no denying magic that we’ve got
I’m so into those big blue eyes
I’m so into your yearning sighs
I’m so into the way we met
I’m so into things we’ve not done yet
I’m so into how you hold me, oh
I’m so into the way you told me,
“Oooooh, I’m so into you”.....
I’m so into you, I’m so into you
I’m so into you, I’m so into you
I’m so into you, I’m so into you
I’m so into you.....
I’m so into those big blue eyes
I’m so into your yearning sighs
I’m so into the way we met
I’m so into things we’ve not done yet
I’m so into how you hold me, oh
I’m so into the way you told me,
“Oooooh, I’m so into you”.....

I Dance With You (Original)
Thanks to the wonderful arranging and producing talents of John Herote, my original ballad has been transformed into a waltz that will take you on a wonderful ride, spinning and dancing to the music, with little surprises for your ears around each turn......John has an arranging style like no one else, and has brought new life to this song....and I will be forever grateful. Thanks so much, J.H.....you completely and totally captured the imagery of this music:)

I Dance With You
It’s not easy to forget we’re not together
Maybe one day, maybe not yet, maybe never
And I have my own ways
Of getting through the days...
...and nights are when the shadows come to hold me
The darkness makes your face easier to see
Ev’ry curve and ev’ry line
Oh, this is when you’re mine
The music plays when nothing’s on
I feel the rhythm of the song
The one you whisper is our very own
Your arms are wrapped around me and
My knees shake - I can barely stand
Oh, how I dance with you
When I’m alone
A voice inside my head says just forget him
But that’s not possible, because I’m lost in
The harmony we make
With ev’ry step we take
The music plays when nothing’s on
I feel the rhythm of the song
The one you whisper is our very own
Your arms are wrapped around me and
My knees shake - I can barely stand
Oh, how I dance with you
When I’m alone
Our pirouette in time
Oh, this is when you’re mine

I've been waiting here for you
Just rehearsing what I'm gonna say
Watching clouds in the blue
As the sunset falls away
Timing is right on this perfect night
And your eyes mirror the stars
The man winks an eye
From his home in the sky
Yeah tonight
That moon is ours
Venus shines her light above
And laughs to think I'd even try
To put this moment into words
That only love can satisfy
(Chorus)
I ain't got nothin' against the sun
But shooting stars have taken flight
And I'd swear to you the moon was hung
Just for you and me tonight

Unspoken (Original) New arrangement and production by John Herote….As a songwriter, I feel one of the greatest compliments is to have a talented producer/arranger take an original song and put it in a new light – without changing the message or diminishing the passion in the song. John has brought this song to a whole new realm of listeners – I think of it like a novel being translated into a new language, for others to understand and relate to. His production and unique use of syncopation, as well as outstanding string line (which I guess I should have expected from a violinist …lol) have given this song (and my voice) wings….and I will be forever grateful. Thank you, John!
