Jeff Fiorentino - Guitar - Whorror Story (JFRocks Halloween 2018) This is the first "JFRocks Halloween" installment since 2015... "JFRocks Halloween" has been a tradition at http://JFRocks.com since 2008. That being said, this year's "JFRocks Halloween" track is a detuned evil little beast of guitar riffage for your listening demise. Utilizing a Drop C tuning and then flat 1/2 step on top of that, this track will reach deep into your soul and likely rip it out. So... as always CRANK IT UP!!! And I wish everyone a dark but candy filled Halloween!! Drown my fear- (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) This is called "Drown my fear". It's a mood-rock guitar piece I produced for a pre-corona TV pilot. While mood-pieces don't usually end up being big hits for me. I think you guys will like this one as it's a mix of Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and Jeff Fiorentino elements... That said.. enjoy... and as always a good set of headphones are recommended... For those of you who've asked about when liner notes are returning... Look for them to return around the holiday season and into 2021... If September is any indication I should have a fair amount of new adventures to talk and in some cases gripe about... cheeers... ______________________________________ "Drown my fear" Composed, arranged, & performed by Jeff Fiorentino (ASCAP) Performance notes: Jeff Fiorentino - All Guitars Jeff Fiorentino - Bass Jeff Fiorentino - Drums Copyright © 2020 JFRocks Music Publishing, Hollywood CA - Unauthorized use is prohibited! **All Jeff Fiorentino and JFRocks song materials are produced for film and television licensing and are registered with ASCAP. A somewhat forgotten picture of true completeness - (Jeff Fiorentino Blues/Rock) This song is me going back to my roots a bit. Some classic Led Zeppelin style blues/rock. The title of this song “A somewhat forgotten picture of true completeness” is actually very important to me. It’s a phrase that stems back to my early childhood which recently came into the present with a bang and reminded me of something I failed to remember. It reminded me “who I was”. A girl named Puff - (Rock Guitar Music by Jeff Fiorentino) This is a second take version of my 2019 release "A girl named Puff". We've redone some of the riffing and remixed the song in this remake of sorts which was done for a documentary I'm a part of right now. I should point out that I didn't do a liner note for the original version in June of 2019. I have to laugh because I caught a ton of flak for the song title. Mostly from mom’s on the boards who thought it was a drug reference of some kind. Look mom’s your kids like my music, and I’m about as wholesome entertainment as it gets these days, cut me some slack. For god’s sake all I do in my off time is cook and garden. I’m like Martha Stewart with a guitar. So here’s my liner note… Hopefully this time around “Mom’s against Jeff Fiorentino” (MAJF) will chill-out a little. For the full liner note and story of Puff visit the official HearThis page for the song at https://hearthis.at/jfrocks-jeff-fiorentino/a-girl-named-puff-2/ ______________________________________ "A girl named Puff" (take 2 version) Composed, arranged, & performed by Jeff Fiorentino (ASCAP) Performance notes: Jeff Fiorentino - All Guitars Jeff Fiorentino - Bass Jeff Fiorentino - Drums Copyright © 2019-2020 JFRocks Music Publishing, Hollywood CA - Unauthorized use is prohibited! **All Jeff Fiorentino and JFRocks song materials are produced for film and television licensing and are registered with ASCAP. I want to kill Jeff Fiorentino - (Jeff Fiorentino) This rather sweet sounding song is called “I want to Kill Jeff Fiorentino”. I know it’s a little ironic based on the music but I do that from time to time. I think the story behind the title will clear up the irony confusion for you, and I think the cover-art will make sense as well. First off for any new fans there have been many people over the years that have wanted to metaphorically “kill me”. Most of the time it’s guitar players who as a lot typically have a dark sense of humor. I did a song in 2013 called “Kill Jeff Fiorentino”, not to be confused with this song. It was quite popular and in that song’s case it was a guitarist who said and I quote “Jeff Fiorentino makes you want to burn your guitar and never play it again, someone should kill him!” I wasn’t overly offended by it but I must admit I hoped no one took him seriously. For the full liner note story please visit my official HearThis page for this song at, https://hearthis.at/jfrocks-jeff-fiorentino/i-want-to-kill-jeff-fiorentino/ Enjoy the song…. Smashing some pumpkins - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) This is "Smashing some pumpkins". The song is of course very Smashing Pumpkins inspired in basic sound and vibe. I think the title is probably pretty self-explanitory, but there is of course a story. I've been listening to a lot of older stuff lately and the Smashing Pumpkins are on my list. I have this demo version of their song "Drown" which I really like. It has a vibe to it, but all of their songs have some sort of a soundscape going on with them. I enjoy recording soundscapes but with the Pumpkins the guitars are driven by super-charged chorusing and vibrato effects that offer a certain spin to the sound. I've done some of that with this track which I think is very Pumpkins in general mood and as I said vibe. I've done this intentionally but I have injected myself into it as well. Most of my following is well aware that Nicole Fiorentino was the bassist in Smashing Pumpkins for some time, while of course she's my favorite sister as you all know and remind me often, I never really gave The Smashing Pumpkins much of a listen. I regret that because the music is very inspired, and I've gained some endless ideas for new non-Pumpkins related oundscapes I can compose in the future.. So if you're into "Smashing Pumpkins" or just into "Jeff Fiorentino", or any Fiorentino for that matter, we're all pretty awesome we think lol.. I hope you enjoy the track.... and as always CRANK IT UP!!!!! I do however highly recommend a good set of headphones for this one to take full advantage of the wide stereo sound. Cheers.... and stay safe out there... i.e. "Stay the FK home!!" :) "Smashing some pumpkins" Composed, arranged, & performed by Jeff Fiorentino (ASCAP) Performance notes: Jeff Fiorentino - All Guitars Jeff Fiorentino - Bass Jeff Fiorentino - Drums Copyright © 2020 JFRocks Music Publishing, Hollywood CA - Unauthorized use is prohibited! **All Jeff Fiorentino and JFRocks song materials are produced for film and television licensing and are registered with ASCAP. Soulmate-gate - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "Soulmate-gate" is a remake of what was an interpretive version of White Lion's "When the children cry" I did back in 2008 for a now rather famous among JFRocks fans and guitar freaks guitar lesson. This is track is actually an interpretive version of THAT track. However this version is a bit more structured and orchestrated with lots of guitar volume swell harmonies during the later two chorus sections. This version is still very abstract though, so I don't believe it'll be a mainstream hit, However I do believe my cult guitar following will eat it for lunch, dinner, and have the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. There's a lot of epic MXR flange going on with the guitar tone and that's always popular with that crowd. The riffing itself again is interpretive. Meaning it's an embellishment but an almost artsy embellishment of the main theme of the "When the children cry" song it's based on. These are always good exercises for artists of any kind to partake in because they help to expand your view of things. In the case of composers like myself it's a way for us to dig deeper into the songs we know and find other worlds living within them. My hope is as I know many of you learn my songs on guitar that you learn this and then expand on it on your own and find your own world within it. Either way even if you just learn it, it's a great example I think of taking a simple strummy-dummy chord pattern as my teacher used to all them and making it into much more. Enjoy the song guitar freaks and JFRocks.com fans.... and as always, CRANK IT UP!!! The louder the better for this one, and I strongly suggest a good set of headphones to get the full stereo vibe happening. Are you listening - (by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) This is "Are you listening" (well, are you?) - This is a total remake of a track I did many years ago back in 2012 for a British filmmaker. I've redone the song in its entirety for a TV project I'm currently a part of. Admittedly I'm getting a little bored with this coronavirus lock-down stuff, but it has afforded me the luxury of working a bit more slowly than usual to produce what I think are some slightly more refined songs. Even hard rock like this song can be fine tuned, where as normally I wouldn't have the time. Everyone who does what I do has the pipe-dream of a producer saying to them, "oh we have plenty of money, take your time.". (Yeah, that never happens folks.) Which in the form of a blessing in disguise is a little bit of what the corona lock-down is allowing for. I'm certainly NOT saying the coronavirus is a dream come true for me or anyone by any means, but I am saying it does have its benefits in certain creative areas. The song's title is something many of you may interpret backward. To explain, a friend of mine said to her fans about a week ago on Twitter, "Are you listening?" She sent me a DM about it as it seemed to her as if nobody was listening to her music. In her defense the lock-down should in theory put everyone at home with nothing to do but listen to music after all! My advice to her was simple, and it may help some of you as well. People are always listening.. we never know who unless they tell us of course, but that's of no real concern, and we shouldn't as artists care one way or the other. It's easy for us to forget this especially if we get caught up in the hoopla of a given song that's gone viral or is a hit in some way. Ego is the flaw in the plan, and sometimes it gets in the way of real happiness. Something I've learned being in Los Angeles and working in the industry for over 25 years is there is no such thing as "celebrity" or even "popularity". There is only "people". We're all just creative people doing our thing. Our music is a part of us, what many fail to realize is our songs are a reflection of our given mood at the time of its creation. Sometimes we're actors, called upon to create a mood that we may not be in at the time or maybe have never experienced. So we create a false reality in our minds to be able to convey the message through the music. Other times as with actors it's all too real and it's not acting at all. The reality is composers like me, or maybe you, (and her) compose music for OURSELVES and share it with others, not the other way around. It's something we're compelled to do. Speaking personally I have to do it, I would do it even if it wasn't my job and I did it long before it was. I wrote my first song at age 9, I used to entertain the neighborhood kids at 5 years old with my guitar. I only knew 2 chords, Em and G, but boy could I use them, and the little girl across the way thought I was hot shit, which wasn't too bad either. All kidding aside, my very important point to all of you is it doesn't matter if anyone is listening to your music! The real question is,,, "Are you listening?" "Are you listening" (well, are you?) Riding the Scorpio moon - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "Riding the Scorpio moon" is an epic surf-rock guitar instrumental with many layers to it and a rich classic surfalicious vibe and groove. This song is right out of a 60's drive-in surf flick for sure. The song was produced for a TV commercial ad spot, and I have to laugh because the producers of the ad spot said and I quote "This song will be the sound of summer 2020". I find that endlessly amusing purely because so far 2020 has been nothing but Coronavirus and quarantine lockdown all over the world. I'm not sure if the "summer 2020 theme song" is what I want to be remembered for. That being said, on the plus-side if my little surf piece here makes everyone think of California beaches and surf betty's instead of hospital beds and face masks then I'm all for it.. cheers to that... In any case I'm sharing with you guys by permission of the production company, who pretty much insisted I do so if I'm honest, (although I'm sure for self-serving reasons, the more exposure the better right?!) As I always like to explain the titles to offer some inspiration context. This song (and its music I might add) despite what you might take away from it is actually titled for a soul-mate of mine. A powerful connection that I suspect goes back many....many lifetimes. cheers... Dogwood Robinson - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) This is an epic guitar piece that I put together for an indie-film project I'm currently a part of. This piece is a mix of neo-classical and classic rock with a pinch of alternative especially in its tone. The song starts off almost Pink Floyd in nature but moves into a more hard rock riffing groove. The guitar solo down the middle is built around a riff alteration of the jazzy section that begins the song. The solo itself however is very Vai meets Van Halen meets Jeff Fiorentino. It's a tricky little section and I had to do it all in one piece for timing reasons. So there's lots of happy little accidental harmonics and noises throughout. These are actually the kinds of solos I like doing. Improv was how I cut my teeth, so any chance I get to pull a cool guitar solo out of my ass around a great rhythm with lots of chord changes makes me a happy Jeff indeed. The song's title is in reference to a character in the film. Nothing too mysterious about it really... Enjoy.... and as always.... CRANK IT UP!! You'll want to go way up for this one, and a good set of headphones will serve you well... Take the bunny and run - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "Take the bunny and run" is obviously from its cover and title theme a slightly cheeky play off the current Easter theme (time of its release). This song is a total remake of a track I did back in 2017. I always liked the original song, but I thought it could be better. This one, is better in many ways. The drums are enhanced, the solo is cleaner, and the list goes on. That said... this song will rock your world for sure, so feel free to blow a set of speakers over it.. The original version of this track is still floating around out there in internet land in bootleg form I believe.. But there's no need to "Easter egg hunt it down"... I would stick with this one... The last orange - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "The last orange" is quite a ride through the guitar universe. This is a piece I did for a now put on pause TV pilot for FX network. This track has elements of classic hard rock vibe with an Alternative rock meets Surf rock edge in places, cut down the middle with a very abstract Van Halen meets Jeff Fiorentino inspired guitar solo. I think it's definitely worth blowing some speakers over for sure, just don't bill me for them when you do please.. As for the title and cover-art, you'll find quickly that aside from the guitar solo mid-song the cover-art is ironic to the music itself. The title only has meaning to me so I really won't go into it. However I imagine this track will get low plays because all of my guitar-freak fans will think it's a sappy love song. In reality, it's nothing of the sort. For those of you who learn my songs and bother your neighbors with the noise the solo should keep you busy for a little while anyway.. cheers... Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! A good set of headphones is highly recommended!! The Earl of Kent - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "The Earl of Kent" is a total remake for a local filmmaker of a song I wrote and recorded way back in 2013. Originally titled "Strange day" this track is a very laid back Smokey room kind of piece. Almost cabaret-rock. Most noted by guitar fans for its guitar solo this "Earl of Kent" version has a much better sound and mix. The drums are enhanced and the bass and most of the guitar parts were totally reworked. My fan following especially on the guitar boards makes a big deal about my song titles. I think they're what sell the songs in many cases. They're all important to me in some way, or relate to my life at a given point in time one way or another. So As always I like to explain the titles... First off I should point out the "Earl of Kent" is best known as a character in Shakespeare's "King Lear". In the case of my song here the "Earl of Kent" is actually a name that I gave to a composer and filmmaker friend of mine in the UK named Pete. While he does live in Kent which is in the southeastern part of GB. He's more of a servant type than a noble. The tie in with the "Earl of Kent" name is just that. Kent is Lear's servant in "King Lear". So there's no real mystery with the title. I just happened to be chatting with Pete on Twitter recently with all of us being quarantined in our homes right now. So I thought I would cheer him up by giving him a song title, which may not seem like much to all of you out there, but in my circle of friends it's a real rite of passage. Everyone wants a song title and asks me about when they'll get one all the damn time. Having said that I should point out that With the notable exception of "Honeysuckle weeks", who while I've since become very impressed by and have had her name mentioned to me via the song title every day for the past 3 months both online and offline, thus making me wonder if we ever met or made contact whether a whole in space and time would open up or not,(sarcasm of course) was none the less an accidental naming on my part. Point is usually in ALL cases any name I mention in one of my song titles is in direct reference in some way to someone in my life. The above being said, this one's for Pete. Sorry, I mean "The Earl of Kent". cheers mate!! Enjoy... and as always, CRANK IT UP!!!!! I like like you - (by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) This track "I like like you" is a total remake of a song I did back in 2016 for the indie-film "Breathe Easy". I always liked the song, but hated the mix and sound of the original version, and I always thought that was what stopped it from being a bigger hit than it was. This track is pure Van Halen influence throughout, but there's a lot of me in it as well, especially with the under-tones happening in the bridge. The song's title is what it is. It's the melody line of the main guitar riff. When the song opens, and when the riff kicks in you can sing "I like like you" to it. The title as always is indicative of what's happening in my world. I like a lot of people right now. I'm finding myself a bit of a kid in a candy-store at the moment. But I "like like" very few people. I always reminded of one of my favourite movie lines. Not a classic or anything cultured, it's Jackie Chan, so I'm not quoting a great philosopher here, but it's still a good habit to get into. It goes "I like to let people talk, so you can see how full of sh*t they are. If I'm honest it's bloody good advice, it certainly works for me. Enjoy the track, this one was recorded for a reality TV show that I'm a part of right now as music director and co-producer. But thanks to the Coronavirus we've been put on hold. That doesn't mean however that you can't crank up the song... So do that... and I hope you guys "like like it"... cheers... The end of the beginning - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "The end of the beginning" is well.....some Metal basically. This is a straight up 80's Metal guitar rocker with some guitar riffing, some background melody over a semi-melodic bridge, and some searing guitar shredding with a wah and some stereo spin. Not much more I can say about the song itself, it is what it is as they say.. The title also is what it is.. It's a take of sorts on the old "Closing day" song lyric, "every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end". This track was produced for an indie-film project, but also just for general licensing. Commercial metal is becoming more popular with music supervisors these days. Even Food Network is grabbing it up to try to liven up their baking and cooking competition shows.. lol... Anyway, there's a big difference between saying "the beginning of the end", and "the end of the beginning", and this song is "The end of a beginning" at least for me anyway... Enjoy...cheers... and all that.... And as always, CRANK IT UP!!!!! Louder the better, and with some good headphones ideally... Happiness is boring - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "Happiness is boring" is a song I composed a while back but only just got around to recording. We recorded it for a reality-show TV pilot that I'm currently doing. It's a fun project, and most of the music required for it that I'm doing has either an element of power, or an element of quirky. This song is a bit of both. I won't bother explaining the title on this one, it's pretty straight forward. If we think about it, there isn't a lot of drama in blissful Utopian happiness. So if you're one of those people that needs drama to survive, and will even go as far as to create drama if there isn't any. Well then, happiness can indeed be and likely is a wee bit boring for you. Rubber rose - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "Rubber rose" is an epic hard rock guitar piece I did for a thriller plot-based TV Pilot project that I've been a part of for a while. This track has a lot of tension to it, but it also has a good deal of release, which makes it I think very easy to listen to. Definitely a good set of headphones will serve you well with this one... I know I normally explain the titles in part to avoid the endless tweets of people asking me about the title. So since "Rubber rose" is kind-of a slang term within my own inner circle of friends (mostly), I'll explain that a "Rubber rose" is in the literal sense when you give a girl a rose and she throws it back at you, or someone says "they'll change", and they don't.. That being said metaphorically it can also apply in business when a deal is rejected, or in any situation where it seems like someone is throwing the "rose" you're offering right back at you. Enjoy.... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Waiting for you - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "Waiting for you" is a late 80's style power pop-ballad of sorts. This is actually a remake of a song I composed for a band here in Los Angeles way back in 2013 that was going to be recorded for Warner Brothers Records. However, they broke up and never used it, so since I retained the publishing rights, and the kind folks at WB said it was okay, I decided I would remake it and re-record it for use in a UK indie-film project I'm a part of currently. So, here it is. It's bloody powerful, with a nice catchy groove hook with a quirky, albeit slightly intricate guitar solo down the middle. I peppered in some guitar melodies for this remake during the chorus parts just to add a "vocal" element. Enjoy.... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Way up for this one for sure... Like I said, it's got some power and feel to it if you give it a chance. In the ether - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino) "In the ether" is a total remake of a track I did back in 2013 called "Zep 27". This remake is from scratch and was done for a TV Pilot project I'm a part of currently. This song is what I call a "smoke'em if you got'em" track... Nice Jimmy Page vibes on this one, you can lean back in your chair with some good headphones, crank it up loud and drift off into the ether.... Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Tiny donut - (by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) I usually like to offer an explanation for where my song titles come from. This is because I'm a composer, so I only write the music portions, that said there are no clear lyrics to go by. The track's mood is usually reflected by the title, which in turn usually has something to do with something going on in my life at the time of the track's creation. So if you're a long-time fan/follower you're probably wondering WTF is with "Tiny donut"?! That's an odd title isn't it?! Well... this track's title "Tiny donut" stems from a rather annoying conversation I had with a well-known peer of mine in the music industry at a recent gathering/event at Universal studios h ere in Los Angeles. I should point out that the majority of my peers in the industry do not post any of their song materials on streaming sites like this one. That said, this "peer" of mine suggested that by me doing so I'm turning myself into (and I quote) a "tiny donut in a box of bear claws". A statement which I found preposterous, a little stupid, and a little arrogant all at the same time. Though I rarely let such things bother me if I'm honest. What he meant by his inane comment was he believes I'm diminishing my perceived fame in the eye of the public by posting my music online for public consumption, rather than confining it to Hollywood circles as most other industry composers do. Since I'm aware that many industry people and other "peers" of mine in the music world play my tracks and read my little blurbs here or on Twitter etc.. I just wanted to say for the record that I think we ALL should be posting our tracks out on streaming sites for people to listen to, AND learn from. I spend a g ood portion of my time answering questions that come in through my website or on social media. That's not to say that I'm perfect, or have all the answers, b ut I've been around since the mid 90's so I've seen my share of changes, and learned a trick or two along the way which I'm always happy to share with any and all. My point is it's a good idea if we the "professionals" never forget that knowledge is a wonderful thing, but it's only of any lasting value if it's passed on. So... if me posting the tracks that I get permission to post online for people to enjoy and learn from makes me a "Tiny donut" in the eyes of some random people out there then so be it, that's perfectly fine by me! People in the industry know much better than that. I wouldn't insult them by thinking any of them feel that way. Well, except apparently one person, but I do appreciate him giving me the song title. cheers... _______________________________ "Tiny donut" (Ciambella piccola) is what I call a hard rock soundscape, meaning it's got some hair swinging elements to its tone and vibe. This track has an a lmost Randy Rhoads stamp to it throughout, especially with the driven guitar tones, which I sample tested prior to recording by running through "Mr. Crowley" by sure they sounded period correct, or close enough for rock and roll anyway. Enjoy... and as always, CRANK IT UP!!! Don't let the soft neo-classical style intro fool you, this is not a quiet piece by any means. "Tiny donut" (a.k.a. We die anyway - (by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) This song's title aside from being good advice for anyone to keep in mind, especially those who are following big dreams was actually produced for an Indie-film (actually a Rock-umentary) for longtime friend and filmmaker in London. This track has some classic Van Halen vibes to it, along with some sideways grooves that are reminiscent of Rush and even Thin Lizzy, and for that matter there's even a little Hendrix influence in certain sections of the guitar solo-section mid-track. I was happy to get permission to share it with you guys here online. Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! And remember, it's actually true... we do die anyway. So use your time wisely folks.. Dinner with the philistines (v2) - by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP "Dinner with the philistines", There's a long story about a strange almost surreal evening at a recent entertainment industry event/dinner that myself and a few others from my company (JFRocks Music Publishing) attended which would clarify this song's title, but I'll spare you all the story as it's just too long to explain. Needless to say while I know I have to go to these things from time to time, I honestly sometimes wish I could send a stunt-double in my place. LOL... I will say, this track ROCKS!!. crank it up, and enjoy!! The louder the better for sure. I composed and recorded it at Malibu studios for a TV pilot project I'm part of. These are always fun to do as you kind-of get free reign to just create something. Being the eccentric hyper-creative type that I am, that sort of direction is right up my alley for sure. In this song's case it's more of a groove piece than anything else. It's a little like my track "Honeysuckle weeks", but "Honeysuckle" on crack. There's also more of a sideways groove going on with this piece, which I always enjoy working with. F.Y.I. for those unaware or unwilling to bother Googling it, a "Philistine" by definition is someone who is hostile or indifferent to culture and the arts, but more importantly for the purposes of this song's title it also refers to someone who is materialistic i.e. guided by materialism. Til DEATH do us part - (2020 Remaster) - Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino (ASCAP) This is an awesome remaster of my 2013 release "Til DEATH do us part". The track's title was originally done for a friend of mine who at the time was going through a rather messy divorce. That being said, the title is sarcastic, and meant to be taken and said with a very cynical tone if you catch my drift. Regardless, this track ROCKS!! It went to #1 on SoundCloud in 2013, and I think this remastered version we did for a local filmmaker here in Los Angeles sounds far superior to the original version. Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!! Way up for this one for sure.. Tangelo - (2020 Remaster) - Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP The original "Tangelo" release was in February of 2013. If I'm honest I didn't think it would turn into the huge hit that was and still is on SoundCloud. Not because it's a bad song or anything, but because it's a big departure from my usual hard rock guitar riffing style. BUT, as always I underestimate things and I think because of the success of the track it deserves this remaster. Which both enhances it and offers a cleaner mix than the original version. This track is a "Soundscape" technically, which lots of Led Zeppelin and even some Pink Floyd vibes throughout. It's a laid-back track. The drums don't even kick in until the final minute. Never the less it's well worth a listen and definitely designed to be played loud and through some good headphones. It's the type of song I call a smok'em if you got'em track. Probably best to listen to it in a smokey room. A little wine or a beer wouldn't hurt either (over 21 only)...lawyers make me say that bit. Enjoy... and CRANK IT UP!!!! The girl who came to stay - (Film Soundtrack Rock piece) - Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP "The girl who came to stay" is an epic sound-scape piece that I produced for an indie-film project I'm part of currently. Honeysuckle - (a.k.a. "Honeysuckle weeks") - by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP This track "Honeysuckle" took Weeks to complete. Not because it's a complex track, but rather it was one of those recording sessions where things kept popping up. Either technical problems, or personal stuff. This song was produced for a TV pilot project here in Los Angeles. It's a good thing the producers didn't put a rush-job on it, I'll tell you that much. We almost called this track "Honeysuckle Weeks" because of how long it seemed to be in production, but then googled the name and realized "Honeysuckle Weeks" is an actress in the UK. I usually like to actually know someone personally before I title a song after them so we skipped the full title. Besides, we didn't want her to get the wrong idea if she happened upon the song and wonder why it was such a raunchy track?!. I'm sure she's a very nice girl. (ha ha) In reality it's called Honeysuckle to be contradictory, which is reflective of the scene on the TV pilot it's slotted for use under. Honeysuckle is a rather sweet smelling flower that blooms in the spring. This track is a raunchy sour-patch kid that throws rocks at you in the summer. But it's got a nice bouncing groove to it, and an intricate semi-melodic guitar solo down the middle. Well worth a head-bang for sure.. All of the above said... enjoy... I'm happy the producer's gave me permission to share here on the web.. I suggest you CRANK IT UP as always. One night in Snowdonia - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "One night in Snowdonia" is a re-work of a track I did way back in 2016. The track has been remixed and a few parts re-done for a TV pilot project. I've been given permission to share it here online. The original version of this song was a big hit on SoundCloud in 2016 and it was released under the "Birthday" title. The re-titling of this track was done for it to fit more with the television pilot episode it's been produced for. It should also be noted that "Snowdonia" while yes is a region in Wales (UK), in this case Snowdonia is the female lead character in the pilot episode... Perhaps that context will help you to chuckle at the title a bit more and not just picture mountains and castles. Enjoy,,, and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Volumes to 11 for this one for sure... In the chilly hours of uncertainty - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) Produced for a TV-pilot project here in Los Angeles, this track's main theme guitar hook has an almost violin concerto effect to it. But this track is Hard ROCK through and through.. Well worth blowing some speakers over for sure.. Enjoy,, and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Way up for this one!!!. A good set of headphones would be ideal for the full wide stereo effect. Just as a point of note, the cover-art for this track is a graphic of "Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle". Statue of limitations - (Guitar Blues Rock, by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) Some classic Rhythm and Blues.. A little modified inspired riff on Led Zeppelin's "You shook me". This track was produced for an indie-film project, where they wanted something Zeppy. That said, Led Zeppelin freaks like me should dig it for sure. The track is built around a 12/8 time signature, with an E, A, B7, E/G# basic chord change riff. Similar to "You shook me" in some ways, but it differs in change timing and obviously soloing. But the vibe and remains as well as some of the main melody. Enjoy, and as always CRANK IT UP!! Regression of fate - (2019 REMASTER) - by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP This is a remaster of one of the first tracks we at JFRocks Music Publishing released for our company back in January 2013. This track was originally part of what we called "The Erica's living room sessions". Basically we opened the new year in 2013 by turning our resident rhythm guitarist's living room up in the Hollywood hills into a recording studio / giant mess of equipement. This song along with 4 others was recorded basically live. The tracks are raw from the board with very little processing. For this remaster I've redone the drums for a better sound and vibe, and I've also mixed it a little wider for better stereo. These sessions were a lot of fun and a great memory. Since they can't really be duplicated as you can never really "relive" things, this remaster will do the trick I'm sure.. Enjoy,,, and as always CRANK IT UP!!!! Jingle Hells - (Mix v2) - by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino for JFRocks the Holidays 2019 This is "Jingle Hells", probably not the classic "Jingle Bells" version you know, but similar to the "Jingle Bells" version I did for "JFRocks the Holidays 2012". While that track was quite popular, I've had a ton of requests to redo it, and expand on some of the ideas I had with the original version. So, off we go with "JFRocks the Holidays 2019". This is of course a kicked-up guitar instrumental opus version of the Christmas classic. Couchin' Tiger - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP ) This is a classic rock guitar hook based track that I produced for a TV Pilot project. With some blending of tones between, ZZ-Top, Pink Floyd, and even some Led Zeppelin, this track screams early 70's guitar rock for sure. All of the equipment used ot record this piece was old as well. It's all been done with spring reverb and guitars that would have been around in the era. Some enhancements were added during final mixdown for TV use purposes, but for the most part it's fairly authentic to the era. Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Sunday is the girl - (mix v2) - Film soundtrack Van Halen style Guitar Rock - https://youtu.be/BscqIR8evgo Produced for an "indie-film" project I'm a part of, "Sunday is the girl" is a very early Van Halen influenced piece with some awesome MXR Flanger tones and an Van Halen debut album style sound. I try to have some fun toward the end of the year with various holiday influenced pieces etc. but in this track's case it's kind of doubling as my annual Van Halen-style release as well. These are a lot of fun for me, as the Van Halen guitar style is a blast to work within. In either case, it's all in good fun and the producers on the film project loved it, so everyone's happy. This track rocks and it's loaded with slick riffing and grooves, so I hope you all dig it too. I'm happy the film producers gave me permission to share it here on the web. Enjoy... and as always... The Wicked Witch of the Web - (JFRocks Halloween 2019) - Guitar Rock by Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP This is the 11th annual "JFRocks Halloween" guitar rocker.. This track is an embellished adaptation of Bach's famous evil piece titled "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor" (aka Toccata und Fuge). If you don't know the song by the title you likely will when my track opens for sure. For the piece the entire piece has been re-composed and embellished for "rock/metal" guitar riffing, because well... this is a rock track.. I've given it a metal edge and added a half-time semi-melodic guitar solo right down the middle. While you may not hear it beyond the intro of the song, (which is also embellished as far as the timing being adjusted for a more rock vibe), the entire track is a twisted re-composition of the original piece, much of of that re-comp again done around the timing. Meaning the triplet verse sections for example have been changed to a quarter-note feel and vibe etc. with a harmonized accompaniment guitar added. All that said... Crank it up!!!! and enjoy. I suggest some padding on the wall to avoid hurting your head from all the banging.. And it goes without saying... "happy Halloween".!!! So this is hell - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) Get your hair swinging and your heads bangin' for this one. Produced for an indie-film project being put together by a good friend of mine here in Los Angeles, this guitar rocker is built on a solid guitar-hook, with several mood changes in the bridge and guitar-solo sections. This track is well worth blowing some speakers over for sure, but I suggest a good pair of quality headphones just the same. Enjoy... and as always,,,, CRANK IT UP!!! "So this is hell" (a.k.a. Zep Tepi - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "Zep Tepi" is a re-do of a track I produced back in 2009 for a guitar lesson product package at the http://JFRocks.com website. Originally titled "Doomsday", "Zep Tepi" has an other-worldly vibe with its sparing use of the Locrian mode to create its mood. This combined with the guitar tones, which are both up an octave and down a partial octave all at the same time give it a unique feel. The real selling point of the track is its almost 70's rock groove and feel. For this new version 10 years later, I added new drums and bass. But the core guitar parts are the original versions. This new version really cranks, far more than the old one so it's worth blowing some speakers over for sure.. This new version will be used on an upcoming TV pilot, and that's why I updated it. The producers have generously allowed me to share it here online with you guys.. As always enjoy.... and CRANK IT UP!!! Way up for this one. Carmen-dioxide - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "Carmen-dioxide", (name taken from a Rocky & Bullwinkle villain), is a guitar riff based melodic instrumental, that chugs along with a nice shuffle groove over its main guitar hook. This song is a mix of things, but mostly it's just plain old classic rock guitar bass and drums. I composed and recorded this track for an indie-film project I'm a part of here in Los Angeles. More info on that coming soon to my Twitter feed, but for now they're allowing me to share some of the tracks with you all.. The above being said, enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Proper porn - (TV pilot guitar rock by Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "Proper porn" is a semi-tense guitar shred'ish type piece I created for a TV pilot project. This track incorporates a lot of arpeggios and is focused around the "Locrian mode", i.e. a minor scale with a flattened 2nd and a flattened 5th. This gives sections of the song an other-worldly feel and vibe which is what the producers were looking for, but the track also offers a bit of a commercial classic-rock feel as well. Definitely worth blowing some speakers over for sure... The above being said,,, enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Some nice wide stereo flanging on this one similar to my track "Better than Alice". Manna - (by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) This track is a complete redo and rewrite of a track I did many years ago in 2013 called "Whole mess'a Vanessa" which I submitted to Showtime for use on one of their shows. This new improved version titled "Manna" is like the original a surf-rock guitar opus of sorts. It moves at a fairly good clip and has a main guitar hook that's built on classic surf music chord changes, but utilizes a lot of bouncing half-step (semi-tone) intervals to create movement. The track moves through some serious modal shifts and vibe changes as with any good surf track, but holds firm with its non-surf Led Zeppelin meets Pink Floyd influences. "Manna was composed and recorded for a TV Pilot project that kind-of vibes with the hopeful theme the song's title represents. With special thanks to Adalina Bonn for the title inspiration. The definition of "Manna" is below for reference for those interested or who ask me about my titles. man·na - (noun) 1. the substance miraculously supplied as food to the Israelites in the wilderness (Exod. 16). 2. an unexpected or gratuitous benefit. ("the cakes were manna from heaven") Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!! I suggest way up for this one of course... Madam's apple - (Film Soundtrack piece by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "Madam's apple" was recorded for an #indie-film soundtrack. This is a guitar riff based piece that's sort of Beatles meets Led Zeppelin. There are two guitar sounds on this track. The main theme guitar riff is basically the Beatles Day Tripper guitar sound, while the other used on the bridge sections of the track is more of a mid-era Jimmy Page type tone. In either case the same guitar was used, and it's a semi-hollow body pumping through a Fender Twin amplifier, and there's a certain presence of tone that always comes from that combination. I'm happy the filmmakers allowed me to share it with you guys here online..... they usually don't in early production stages... So enjoy.. and as always CRANK IT UP!!!! A girl named Puff - (TV Pilot Guitar Rock by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "A girl named Puff" was produced for a TV pilot project I'm a part of currently. This track is a throwback of sorts to the early 80's. The days of The Cars, and Rick Springfield etc. etc. It is what it is.. it's a pop-rock guitar riff based instrumental with an underlying melody guitar used where appropriate. The whole thing is cut down the middle with a classic guitar solo. As always enjoy.. and CRANK IT UP!! A good set of headphones is ideal for this one for sure.. "A girl named Puff" (a.k.a. Minced oath - (Guitar rock film soundtrack by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "Minced Oath" is a rich textured rock guitar instrumental that was composed and produced for an indie-film project. This piece has a lot of vibe to it, with some laid back heavily chorused and flanged tones spanning across the stereo spectrum. I wouldn't call this track chill but I would call it a groove piece. It was designed to be a scene piece for the film it was produced for. In either case it ROCKS... with some Led Zeppelin meets Pink Floyd meets god knows what sort of vibe. Maybe we can call it other worldly and leave it there. As a point of note the what I call melodic-shred guitar solo mid-track was pure improv. The producers wanted some rawness to the lead, so it's just take 1 shred away. Great fun indeed.... so crank that part up even louder if you will.. ha ha.. Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Taming the Victorian - (Guitar Rock by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) Produced for a TV Pilot project, "Tame the Victorian" is a melody driven hard rock guitar piece, with a real Hair-Metal 80's rock vibe. It's built on 2 solid guitar hooks, with the main hook having a guitar melody over the top of it, which would in- turn be the vocal melody if there were vocals. This track is set to be the ending credits piece for the TV pilot project, although it will be segmented for show use. What you have here is the full song. Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Monopoly in the rain - (Guitar Rock by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) This is second of two songs I composed and recorded with Australian bassist/artist and longtime friend Alice Hennessy. This track takes a departure from the big mix of "Better than Alice" (the 1st track), and lands us firmly into spring reverb classic rock guitar tone. With some wicked Led Zeppelin vibes here, this is a pure classic rock track that's built on a solid guitar hook and a melodic bridge. Enjoy, and as always CRANK IT UP!!! TwEAT me - (by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "TwEAT me" was produced for a TV pilot although I also handed it off to an indie-film, so where she lands nobody knows I suppose. In any case, this track has some serious shuffle groove going on with some wicked swing happening. But the bridge part is very shred based and more laid back. As always the song title relates to some happening in my life during my week or the recording process itself. In this case it's all about Twitter, and the ups and downs associated with it. While I love connecting with people and hearing from followers, I don't always like it. Depends on the person really, but there in lies the title, a little word-play on Tweet, and the catch- phrase "Eat me". Pretty much sums it up. As always enjoy.. I'm happy I got permission to share it online, and you'll definitely want to crank this one up. A good set of headphones is my suggestion. Yesterday's girl - (film music Zeppelin style by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "Yesterday's Girl" was recorded for an indie-film project I'm currently the composer on. This track has some pretty obvious Led Zeppelin influences, including but not limited to a real Dazed and Confused vibe. However the key, tempo, and changes are vastly different. The track was mixed with Led Zeppelin in mind however as that's what the producers of the film wanted. They want it, they get it. That's how I roll. This track is a mood piece. Tracks like this are designed to create a vibe all their own to fit around a specific scene. For this song I highly suggest using the title as a way to set the mood for yourself as the film isn't yet completed. Usually my titles have some meaning or relate to the song in some way, and with this track, that's the case, but I prefer you draw your own conclusions as to what the title might mean to you specifically. Enjoy and as always I'm happy the film producers allowed me to share it online. Headphones are recommended, and per-usual, CRANK IT UP!! Volumes to 11 for sure... Better than Alice - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) Recorded at Malibu studios on a wickedly windy night by the sea, "Better than Alice" was composed and recorded for a TV pilot project. This track has some serious vibe to it and I think a great groove. A little pinch of Bon Jovi influence, but a bit more kicked up with some Led Zeppelin and Van Halen type string attack and sound in some cases. Pink - (some Pink Floyd vibes by guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) This is a completely remixed, remastered and as far as the drums go, re-recorded version of my 2016 online hit "Pink", which had the working title at the time of "Floyd rage". This remastered version has far superior stereo spread and sound to the original version (to listen to the original version visit, https://soundcloud.com/jeff-fiorentino-jfrocks/pink-2016) Enjoy.. but I almost insist for this one you download the mp3. These streaming players aren't EQ'ed for the best sound. But hey at the very least this track is ripe for some good headphones.. So as always, CRANK IT UP!!! And feel the Pink. Doo-wah'p - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) Opening with some true "greaser" finger snaps, "Doo-wah'p" is a guitar-riffed out take on classic 50's and early 60's Doo-Wop. Typically of course a more vocal based genre of music, I've taken many of the classic melody patterns and transposed them into rich guitar hooks and harmonized lead sections. I've also kicked things up a click or two by giving this track some edge and hard rock feel. This track was produced for an indie-film project I'm a part of currently. Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!! Louder the better for this one, a good set of headphones will do it justice and serve you well. Also for goodness sake download the mp3. The streaming players are the worst for sound. Dead man's piss - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) This classic rock guitar instrumental was produced for an indie-film project. Built on a couple solid guitar riffs including a bend monster diminished riff in "B", this utilizes some classic Fender Tweed tones and blends a little ZZ-Top tone with some Led Zeppelin vibes. Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!! Also be sure to download the MP3 version. The sound quality is much better when it's not compressed to death here on the streaming players. Sparking a good lizard - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "Sparking a good lizard" is a guitar hook based head-banger. I'm using two separate guitar tones. One is a more 80's hair-metal type tone and the other (used for the bridge and solo parts) is more of an over-driven Jimmy Page tone with a hint of slightly depressed Wah to give it some mid-range edge. The trick with this was getting the two to blend, which I think I managed to pull off. Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!!! White-board dreams - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) "White-board Dreams" is what I and some would call a "Progressive Surf Rock" track. This is a total remake and redo of a track I released about 8 years ago called "Mad Surf". I had produced that track for a car commercial, but was never really pleased with the final mix. That said, I re-learned it, re-composed it, and re-recorded a brand new version here. This version is far better as far as mix and arrangement as I wasn't bound by what a producer wanted or needed for a project. I took this track in some new directions, made it bigger and badder for sure. Enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!! I would crank it past full volume for this one, and because of the spacing, I suggest a high quality set of headphones for sure.... Wicked purple - (by Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) Giving the Fender Tweed a little workout here on "Wicked purple". This track is a bit of fun I produced for TV Licensing. Built on some solid embellished at times guitar hooks, with a Jimmy Page vibe solo down the middle. Wicked purple is a little like ZZ-Top jamming with Led Zeppelin in a garage in Pasadena. Plan B-minus - (Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino - ASCAP) This is "Plan B-minus" aka (Plan B-). I'm going back to my roots or I should say back to the my beginnings here with this one, Upon review of some older materials of mine I felt a little nestalgic and I wanted to recapture some of those older tones I used to get out of my amps and guitars. On this track I went way back to the very beginning. I used the same guitar, amp, effects, and the exact settings I used on my biggest hit and very first release on SoundCloud back in December of 2012 "Suffer the Bitches", (you can find that track on SoundCloud at http://bit.ly/Suffer-TB). This track is technically my/our 2019 http://JFRocks.com year opener track though its release is prior to the new year by a week or two. In any case, enjoy... and as always CRANK IT UP!!!
