Midnight is the title of this tune. A Marvin/Welch composition first published in 1960 by The Shadows. The sound has been created with the Vintage-Sounds patches of Christian Boileau: https://vintage-sounds.freeforums.net/

Sometimes / Usahay: This is a tune I created a backing track for, that was used by a friend a few years ago. I also did ... read morerecord a demo video to show how I played it. In fact I forgot about it until I went through my folders. I decided to publish it after a bit of audio and video engineering. The tune is Philippine and is in fact a Visayan love song, sang by a lot of local artists. The title Usuhay means Sometimes.

A bit too late, but let's keep positive too early :-) The sound of the lead is created with one of the patches (Sleepwalk) of Christian Boileau (http://vintage-sounds.freeforums.net/).

Leona is the title. She is the wife of Chet Atkins. Steve Wariner wrote a tribute to Chet Atkins using her name. This is my interpretation which differs from the original of Steve.

All my Sorrows Before you listen some facts. All my Sorrows is a traditional played by many (folk) singers and groups. In 1959 The Kingston Trio arranged it and inserted it on their play list. The song is a variant of the lullaby "All My Trials". See the text on my You Tube page for more info. As written above it is the second one I used BIAB with. I inserted the chords by hand, connected it to a style so a backing could be generated. I removed the generated electrical guitar and inserted my own tracks including the lead in my DAW. For my recordings I used my new Fender 50s replica. The video I recorded during a holiday in Portugal. Jan

The Savage - Witch Doctor Norry Paramor originally composed it as a track for the film Witch Doctor. Under that name it was released on the CD "The Shadows at Abbey Road" in 1997. It differs clearly from the version that was recorded for the A-side of the single with Peace Pipe on the flip side on 25 May 1961. That one was renamed to The Savage. The savage is part of the film "The Young Ones" of Cliff Richard and The Shadows. I recorded it some time ago with main purpose to show how I play it. That's why you do not see my face here :-). The camera recorded both my play and the sound of the backing track via my Monitor speakers. For this YT video I replaced the direct sound with the home studio recording I also made. No post-processing at all but mixing with the backing track that I received from my good friend Christian Boileau. The sound of my lead is created with the V3 patch of the Savage in VSTHost. This patch was developed by Christian and adapted for my guitar by myself. The adaptations were no more than some EQ to bring the sound of my guitar a bit closer to Hank Marvin's. VSTHost of Hermann Seib and its patches (>125) developed by Christian are free software (http://vintage-sounds.freeforums.net/) The echo in this patch is created with the eTap2sw VST which is developed by Piet Verbruggen also responsible for the eTap2HW.

PeacePipe (for Peace) ery unusual to post the same song twice. But this composition of Norrie Paramor became quite another version. The video is dedicated to peace as opposite of war. The big question here is: Will we ever learn? My friend Jaap had the idea to use finger picking and he developed his play based on "capo on two". You hear Jaap on the left and myself on the right with flat-picking and of course the lead in the center. Our friend Phil Coggan indulged his creativity on the orchestration with violins, violas, cellos and vibraphone. He also made a decent mix out of it. The background scenes come from a 20 volume DVD set called "Historical Wars". A number of them were also shown on History Channel. Music and images belongs to their rightful owners. Peace Pipe This song has been written by Norrie Paramor especially for The Shadows. The song was the flip side of The Savage and recorded in 1961. This recording (I mean mine) is in my opinion a promotion for the effects chain that has been developed by Christian Boileau, on YouTube also known as Springer. My recording can be considered as a live recording. I recorded both audio and video simultaneously. I used the sound of the video to trigger the audio channel. The close up is in fact a play back. Christian's goal was to develop a freeware system that could compete with professional equipment. During years he collected all kinds of freeware plugins that were good enough to do the job. Finally it resulted in a VSTHost, developed by Hermann Seib with patches created by Christian. The only thing I had to do was correct my guitar for Hank Marvin's. When you already use a DAW for recording, VSTHost Slave can be used. It functions as an effects (FX) chain with every aspect you need for vintage sound. Curious after this, have a look at Christian's YT Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/springer16900/videos or even better on: http://vintage-sounds.freeforums.net/ where you can find everything about his patches, you only need to just register.

Buganvilla On You Tube several songs with this title can be found, composed by different people. I arranged the composition of Dave Robinson. Dave plays his version on the CD "Into the Spotlight" that was produced by Warren Bennett in 2005. Everything done by myself except for the bass which was made up and played by my brother Herman. I hope you like it.
