Composers/Musicians Robert Kirkland and myself decided to recreate Edgar Winter's 1972 hit instrumental Frankenstein and make a video montage using old movie still pictures. I always loved the original movie, having seen it as a kid and being scared to death of the monster. I also have been a HUGE fan of the original song! It is one of my personal all time favorite Rock pieces. It is worthy to note that the title of the song came from one of the original studio sessions when the Edgar Winter group were recording the tracks. At one point the recording engineers had literally cut up many sections of the tape that was being used to record the song. The pieces were scattered across the studio as they decided the order of the splices. Long story short they created a Monster instrumental after putting the pieces together!

Here's a new long distance musical collaboration with a wonderful flute player friend of mine who lives in Austin, Texas. Patty Moore is an accomplished wind player and performer and joined me on an original composition of mine entitled the Forest song. I wrote this instrumental composition way back in 1978 on classical guitar after visiting Sesquicentennial Park, in Columbia, South Carolina. I have since given up the guitar and am happy to play it on the piano! Enjoy..

Harmonically speaking this is a very conservative happy tune with a classical music approach. Enjoy!

Note: this is version/Mix 2, which I feel is a much better mix.. My best attempt at recreating the mood and feel of what I consider are the best progressive rock and... read more fusion groups of the 70's. Influences include Genesis, Kansas, Deep Purple, Dixie Dregs, David Sancious, Chic Corea. Recorded and mixed with Cakewalk Sonar X1 software and instruments over 3 months of intensive work. It's rather long at 10 minutes so hang in there...I hope you will enjoy it!
