I've been singing for as long as I can remember. I guess my journey as a vocalist began when I was about 6 years old. However, I picked up the lap steel guitar just a couple of years ago.
What gear do you use?
I love my Recording King Lap Steel guitar. A single Alnico P-90 pickup gives it excellent tone. I also use an Ernie Ball volume pedal, an OCD fulltone overdrive & on special occasions, a Plutoneium Chi-Wah-Wah.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
As I see it, I'm still growing up, so I'll share my biggest influences currently: vocally, Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi & Eva Cassidy have impacted me the most. As far as playing lap steel goes, I'd have to say my biggest influences are Duane Allman, Ben Harper & Mr. Robert Randolph.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I'm the lead vocalist/songwriter/steel guitar player for LITTLEWOLF: a unique, dynamic blues explosion.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
I've performed at the Fourth on Broadway Festival in Lubbock, TX. It is the largest free festival in Texas, with an audience of over 100,000. However, my most memorable performance was at the Arts Cottage at Rock-C Ranch in Smithville, TX. It was a very intimate performance to about 60 people. It was the ultimate acoustic performance, with no amplification & very eager listeners.
