Started playing at the age of nine, became a musician in my first band aged 15.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
First big gig was Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow in Manchester many moons ago, with the classic line up of Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powell, Tony Carey and Jimmy Bain. I went with some friends/fellow musicians and the gig totally blew me away!!
What gear do you use?
I have about 12 guitars, but mainly play one of two Gibson Les Pauls that I own.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Originally when I was very small, Hank Marvin, then Ritchie Blackmore, then Gary Moore, now I tend to listen to Classical Music (I know that sounds cheesy) because I find if I listen to guitar players too much, I just start trying to replicate them note for note, I prefer just to pinch the odd bit of playing here and there, then go back to listening to my classical music :-))
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I was in the British Melodic Rock Band 'TEN' and played on the album 'Stormwarning' (Frontiers Records), for the last few years I have been heavily involved with the British Melodic Rock Band 'Rage of Angels' and played on the album 'Dreamworld' and follow up album Devils New Tricks (Escape Music). I have also played guest solos on albums by 'Scar for life' (Worlds Entwinded), Conjuring Fate (Valley of Shadows) and Tony Mills (Streets of Chance). I am currently working on my first solo album with Vocalist Jason Morgan and Portuguese drummer Joao Colaco, I estimate that the album will be released in 2018, its not a guitar shredding album, its all about the songs :-)) And finally ...I have also played lead guitars on the soon to be released album from STAGMA the brainchild of Portuguese guitarist/songwriter Alex Santos, fellow musicians on the album include Black Sabbath/Doi drummer Vinny Appice and others :-))
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Tommy Denander....I've played on stage with him twice...once in Sweden at the 2014 Vasby Rock Festival and again at the Firefest 2014.....we always have great fun, he is lovely guy and an awesome guitar player.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
One memorable performance was definitely Firefest 2014 (The final fling), I would think it was in front of about 1,000 - 1,500 people, but a very special occasion, as it was the last ever Firefest to take place, so we were very honored to play.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Deep Purple - Machine Head, I picked it because the recording is so organic, no digital stuff, mobile recording unit in a hotel in Switzerland, the band at their best and Ritchie Blackmore in my oppinion playing the best and some of the most memorable solos he's ever recorded.
