Drummer and Keyboard player for over 25 years also present the NerveCast Radio Show at www.zykotika.com I have been writing music and lyrics for years now
What was the first concert you ever went to?
First concert was Adam and the Ants at the Queens Hall in Leeds 1982..
What a great show from one of the best visionary performers of his time
Went with my old school mate Stuart Henderson and dressed for the part too..
What gear do you use?
I have always Drummed with Tama equipment with a premier snare and ..Keyboards always seemed to be Korg and Yamaha with the odd Roland chucked in for good measure..
DJ wise whilst out doing the clubs etc back on the day it was always
Technics 12/10's with Stanton needles and Numark mixers..
Radio equipment has remained Pioneer and Numark using Sony and JVC for MP3 hook ups. Plus as we run a show online we use DJ Pro mixer for windows.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
To be really honest I;m here to listen to the wealth of great music out there..Ive put my own music up just for the sake of it really but I love this kind of format where you can find some pure talent...found quite a few here already LOVE IT HERE
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Mixed bag of all kinds..Adam Ant for his flair and excitment of the time..
80's 2tone band Madness for the fun and brilliance of the culture they helped restructure
The Police for the talent of Stuart Copelands jazz fused drum style that melted perfectly into the up beat punk/ska sound they first started to play..
The Who for the exuberance of the rock and roll life style ..plus no other drummer comes close in my view as being able to construct sheer magnificent play from utter chaos as Keith Moon could.
Sex Pistols for being so utterly CRAP and able to get away with it...
The list goes on and on...x
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I have done a fair amount of session work drumming on Signed and established artists work and found this very enjoyable having the creative input but no responsibility for the outcome..lol..I have been in many bands as a drummer and keyboard player, had my time being groomed for the big time by certain Record companies, but could smell the bad smell of corporate bullshit a mile off..lol..
figured Im not the kind to be controlled or used as a commodity so decided to pull away..Worked in the Industry for many years engineering and producing certain ''names'' and also developing new names too..
A very cut throat life and not for the faint heated at all..lol
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
I would of loved to of played Drums with Elvis Presley in one of his late 60's 70's concerts
The pure power of the man was awesome
Jeff Lynn from ELO anything this man writes is a magical musical dream loved to have played Drums on a lot of ELO tracks
David Bowie,,,just for the fact it's him
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
As a musician played drums in various bands around the UK largest audience to just over 8000 people .. As a DJ Brighton Beach 1998 to just over 4000 party heads and on Radio broadcasting to 3.6 million
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
The Beatles...Sgt Peppers Lonley Hearts Club Band....
I love anything George Harrison did and can feel his heavy influence in this albums sound
I first heard it on a summer holiday in Cornwall UK 1976 fell in love with the sound straight away. It's one of those defining albums that influenced so many styles and sounds of today, and I always hear the style first used back then incorporated in a lot of today's music by bands who think they are being so clever ''being original''..lol
