Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
As the youngest of a large family, I heard to much music to be true, from classical to black sabbath, two brothes and a sister played guitar, the first thing i played was a bleus in E. My two brothers were John Mayall fans, a sister into Jimmy Hendrix.
Radio Caroline, my favo station then, was also a big musical influence growing up.....they broadcast zep, stones, genesis, floyd, hendrix, bad co, jeff beck, bowie, earth wind and fire, ohio players, The O'Jays, c s n & y etc etc
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I played with the Groovetones and later on with the Nervous Fellas. We toured with George Wild Child Butler four times. Together with drummer Herman Smink i did gigs with the Dunn-Packer band and Henry Gray and also a lot thursdaynight sessions at the B14 in Rotterdam, fun times. I \did gigs in Hiolland, Belgium, France and Germany..
With the nervous fellas we toured with Sugar Ray Norcia and backed up Big Jay McNeely and Dana Gillespie. the Nervous Fellas.stoped a few years ago because of loosing our friend Johan de Roos..Played with Rollo Markee and the Tailshakers for a little tour, great blues and big fun :)))) this year i did some gigs with Stackhouse and also toured with this band with Mark Hummel, again good times, good people and music.
Also recording songs with the ijzermangang and Hadgiek for the internet, playing some guitar and bass on those tracks.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
i guess four japanese women ;+)
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
That's between about 6 in a past time bar and 17000 on a festival in Groningen. One of the most memorable performance was the first gig with Sugar Ray Norcia on the second tour at 's-Heer Hendrikskinderen, no rehearsal, no setlist and 100% music, pure magic that night.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
So glad i never get stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with me.
