I was about 14 or 15. I started taking Blues guitar lessons. Worked on that till college, when studied music writing, theory, jazz, and choral. Plugged away with guitar till I became somewhat adept with fingerstyle. Bamboo Flute also became a fixture to my mouth. Always loved the sound of the early looped keyboards. Began using Mellotron/ Chamberlain, and Optigan samplings within the last couple of years.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I guess that would of been a Be-in about 1968 or so in San Francisco Golden Gate Park. Jefferson Airplane and I think the Grateful Dead, but my memory is a bit foggy about that day.
What gear do you use?
Parker acoustic/electric guitar. Takamine Twelve string electric/acoustic, Ovation 6 string acoustic guitar, Chinese C Bamboo Flute, Other bamboo flute assortments. Gforce M-Tron,IK Media Sampletron. My favorite are my guitars.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
I was a big fan of the Beatles early on. Then along came the Prog scene. Genesis, Yes and King Crimson.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
I currently jam with many Indie musicians from around the world. A fantasy jam would probably be with Steve Hackett.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
At least two full auditoriums down to one small living room. I did a street musician thing once that attracted a small crowd that really appreciated the music. I think I had the best time ever doing that.
