How long have you been playing?
I have enjoyed singing since I was a toddler. Like all kinds of music. probably first learned harmony by my family singing at the piano or with a guitar. I remember singing the Beatles harmonies at age 4 thanks to my older brother being a musician and him bringing the Beatles music into our home life. And of course, church. always trying to harmonize while singing a hymn. still do during those rare occasions I am in a church. I have never been a professional performer. just a choir girl. and singing with friends. Not sure what I am doing here with all you fine singers and musicians. but I will give it a whirl. You all are having such fun creating wonderful songs, it motivated me to join. :-)

The Spider and the Fly
By Mary Howitt
Narrated By Joan Berly
Music By Joan Berly
Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly,
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there."
Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."
"I'm sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high;
Will you rest upon my little bed?" said the Spider to the Fly.
"There are pretty curtains drawn around; the sheets are fine and thin,
And if you like to rest awhile, I'll snugly tuck you in!"
Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "for I've often heard it said,
They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed!"
Said the cunning Spider to the Fly, " Dear friend what can I do,
To prove the warm affection I've always felt for you?
I have within my pantry, good store of all that's nice;
I'm sure you're very welcome - will you please to take a slice?"
"Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "kind Sir, that cannot be,
I've heard what's in your pantry, and I do not wish to see!"
"Sweet creature!" said the Spider, "you're witty and you're wise,
How handsome are your gauzy wings, how brilliant are your eyes!
I've a little looking-glass upon my parlour shelf,
If you'll step in one moment, dear, you shall behold yourself."
"I thank you, gentle sir," she said, "for what you 're pleased to say,
And bidding you good morning now, I'll call another day."
The Spider turned him round about, and went into his den,
For well he knew the silly Fly would soon come back again:
So he wove a subtle web, in a little corner sly,
And set his table ready, to dine upon the Fly.
Then he came out to his door again, and merrily did sing,
"Come hither, hither, pretty Fly, with the pearl and silver wing;
Your robes are green and purple - there's a crest upon your head;
Your eyes are like the diamond bright, but mine are dull as lead!"
Alas, alas! how very soon this silly little Fly,
Hearing his wily, flattering words, came slowly flitting by;
With buzzing wings she hung aloft, then near and nearer drew,
Thinking only of her brilliant eyes, and green and purple hue -
Thinking only of her crested head -- poor foolish thing! At last,
Up jumped the cunning Spider, and fiercely held her fast.
He dragged her up his winding stair, into his dismal den,
Within his little parlour - but she ne'er came out again!
And now dear little children, who may this story read,
To idle, silly flattering words, I pray you ne'er give heed:
Unto an evil counselor, close heart and ear and eye,
And take a lesson from this tale, of the Spider and the Fly.

THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT
"The Cask Of Amontillado"
Spoken Word for some Halloween fun!
BY the last breath of the four winds that blow
I'll have revenge upon Fortunato
Smile in his face I'll say "come let us go
I've a cask of Amontillado"
Sheltered inside from the cold of the snow
Follow me now to the vault down below
Drinking the wine as we laugh at the time
Which is passing incredibly slow
(What are these chains that are binding my arm?)
Part of you dies each passing day
(Say it's a game and I'll come to no harm)
You'll feel your life slipping away
You who are rich and whose troubles are few
May come around to see my point of view
What price the Crown of a King on his throne
When you're chained in the dark all alone
(Spare me my life only name your reward)
Part of you dies each brick I lay
(Bring back some light in the name of the Lord)
You'll feel your mind slipping away

Dear friends, There is a true jewel amoungst us...and he is only 14 years old. It is the very talented James Pavel Shawcross. Here is a little introduction of his first solo concert! He is truly a wonder and a joy to hear and to watch. He not only performs eloquently. He also enjoys sharing historical information about the musician, the composition and each piano he is olaying. Just the knowledge this young man has regarding the integrity of the piano is to be highly respected. You almost forget that he is only 14 years old. He is a true gift to the world as a natural born teacher....a giver of music. Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. James Pavel Shawcross.

Got my Tascam 8 track digital recorder. Opened the box, plugged it in, and prayed to the music gods I can self record. :-) Here is my first ever recording on it!
I started testing testing 1-2-3...and got a bit carried away. You can get carried away with 8 tracks. First I learned the recording next how to Mixdown and then the mastering. Then finally figured how to get the darn thing from the recording machine to the computer machine.....now finally to you, dear listeners.
enjoy!

Music titled 'Ready To Go' by Annemiek Beex
Lyrics titled 'Come Inside' by Joan Berly
Remixed production by Jim Jenkin
Annemiek Beex's beautiful music touched my heart so deeply, inspiring me to start singing and suddenly, out of my soul's mind, came these lyrics:
Come Inside
Can you see sun in my eyes
radiant beams shining down in streams
ohh..ohh....
Spirit moving my heart
Soulfully guiding me
Come Inside
Hold my hand, Hold my head high
watch my soul fly
Bring peace in my life
Warm Light gently guiding me
Soulfully Tenderly
Come inside
Hold my hand, Hold my head High
Watch my soul fly
Instrumental
ohh...ohh....
Spirit moving in my heart
Soulfully guiding me
Hold my hand, Hold my head high
Watch my soul fly
Can you see sun in my eyes
radiant beams shining down in streams
lyrics by Joan Berly
I am greatly honor by Annemiek Beex for being so gracious in allowing me to post 'Come Inside' as my first performance on Fandalism.
I was also very fortunate to be helped by the wonderful and talented Mr. Jim Jenkin with his skills in recording, mixing and editing. He truly brought my song to life.
I am still pinching myself. My first Fandalism post is finally an reality. :-)
My deepest thank you to all the wonderful Fandalism folks for your inspiration and encouragement.
Peace. Love. Music.
