What was the first concert you ever went to?
Heineken Music Festival in Swansea, South Wales. Manic Street Preachers among others. Nicky Wire got hit with a flying bottle, and the band stormed off stage. I was hooked.
What gear do you use?
Basses: MusicMan Stingray, Fender Jazz, Ibanez GSR205 Guitars: Squier Telecaster, Epiphone SG, non-name accoustic Ukuleles: Sanchez soprano electric-accoustic. aNueNue concert banjulele, Cordoba Tenor Uke Various other sundry bits and pieces like kazoos, a keyboard and an accordion, none of which I'm any good on.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
First band: Curie. Rehearsed a bit but never really gigged. played bass in a couple of duos and trios on-and-off, but never really blossomed until the YouTube revolution and cheap multi-track recording on PCs
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
I'd like to join a band made up of George Formby, Tom Waits, Entwhistle, Les Claypool and Johnny Marr, with songwriting by Nigel Blackmore. I'd end up as the roadie, but man, I'd see some good shows
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Possibly Animals by Pink Floyd, or the Les Claypool live cover of the same album. I find it intriguing.
