What are you looking for from Fandalism?
Looking for new and interesting music/sounds, others to collaborate with, feedback on my projects, and providing feedback to others.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
My first favorite band was U2, I liked their sound and vocals, and lyrics were interesting to me and got my attention back in the 80's. Loved the Edge's guitar playing too. Have since moved on to liking other bands. Also, Synchronicity album from the Police was my first tape that I got as a gift, and is still pretty dear to me! I like weird music like Frank Zappa's too!
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Been recording with a friend since mid 90's - The Boatswains. We met working together in a manufacturing plant. Recorded our last song together in like 2017. We live cross country from each other now. Mostly wrote and recorded songs, no live shows. Our music is on Spotify and YouTube under "The Boatswains". Currently working by myself under the name "Spoken Ingest".
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
I've never really thought about this before, but Keith Richards is pretty interesting, and I love his guitar playing. Maybe he would show me some cool secret guitar playing tricks, or magic spells to increase life expectancy!
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Played a couple of live performances with a friends band called Creepy Pockets. One at the Rio Hotel /Casino in Las Vegas (maybe 20 or so people), and one at the Palms (also in Vegas) under a livestreamed show called Acoustic Asylum (20-30). Same band also played a house party where there were a few other bands and 60-80 people, probably most memorable.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd. Love this album and how the songs transition into each other. Recording is great! I heard tracks from it at several points, but first listened to the whole thing at once in 2009 or so, and I fell in love with it.
