Beatles - Gator Bowl, Jacksonville, Fl Summer of '64. Memorable because it was...The Beatles.
What gear do you use?
My favorite is a Harmony Strat-O-Tone from 1965. Semi-hollow Body.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Hard to say...my parents loved Broadway and Jazz. Life changed with the British Invasion but there was great music coming from the Beach Boys and Four Seasons and Wall-of-Sound too. Butterfield Blues Band awoke me to Muddy and Wolf.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
The Beau Geste, The Bruce, The Earthlings, The Legendary Earlthlings, Cheese, Walkie-Talkie, Tapestri, Henry Gray and The Cats, Boone Scuttle Five.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Roy Buchanan and Danny Gatton. These would be more like lessons than jam sessions! Telecasters still speak to me more than any other electric guitar.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
7,500 at the Baton Rouge Blues Festival. Most memorable was the last gig by the Legendary Earthlings where we said that Peter Frampton's brother, the fictitious Johnny Frampton, was our rhythm guitarist. We blew the roof off the place that night.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Rosebud - give it a listen. Perhaps 'A Salty Dog'. Mayby K.D. Lang's 'Ingenue'.
