Paul B, co-writer of some of The Christians' songs (A DOG AND ITS DAY, YOUR COOL MYSTERY), original drummer & co-founder of the band The Christians. Paul is now in the new Liverpool museum of music where his name appears (Paul Barlow). Though a professional drummer most of his life, he also plays guitar & keyboards, writes lyrics & sings. Among his fondest experiences are: - Playing drums for Steve Winwood at Montreux. - The Christians invited as special guests by Fleetwood Mac to support them at a concert in Liverpool. - Achieving a number one hit in the UK and Ireland with the recording and release of Ferry 'Cross the Mersey as a charity single, with Gerry Marsden, Paul McCartney and Holly Johnson. - Doing a tour with The Pogues whilst their own drummer was on paternity leave. - Paul is still pals to this day with some of the musicians and people he's worked with over the years.Still writing & recording music, with a little studio band, which includes myself. He is also currently working on new stuff with Mike and Garry, which I'll some future day post on YouTube.

Wayne later joined Dead or Alive before joining The Sisters of Mercy after which he & the bassist from Sisters formed The Mission. Sisters & Mission are still going today. Wayne has an autobiography recently released - entitled Salad Daze - in which he posts these pics and more, talking about his days with H&TD and the other bands that formed and followed. One of Wayne's friends is the lovely Gary Numan who has had a longstanding & successful career utilising (English spelling) electronic music & production. He also still releases new albums & gigs to this day, and just gets better, in my opinion. Combining electronica with 'live' instruments is fun - in my opinion - and I take my hat off to the electronic producers I've seen here on this site who have produced some amazing pieces & songs. Wayne has also had the pleasure of working with Rolan Bolan. They covered 20th Century Boy - Marc Bolan's T Rex hit. Marc Bolan's music has quite an impact on me. Like the others, The Christians are still touring to this day, here in the UK and also in Europe and overseas, though use session musicians and have a new line-up - and they are superb musicians. Garry is the only original member. The Christians were originally managed by Pete Fulwell, as were two other Liverpool bands Paul B was in: It's Immaterial and Wah! The Christians today are managed by the adorable Emma, who is the boss and also Mrs C - Garry's wife. Pete Fulwell's funeral took place in Liverpool on 13th March 2020. Garry, Emma, Paul B, Henry and the guys from It's Immaterial (John & Jarvis) were in attendance behind the family, alongside other musicians whom Pete had managed. Life is short.

It's Immaterial - The Old Grey Whistle Test TV programme (2 tracks) Paul and Henry were both in It's Immaterial together (seen here) as well as The Mighty Wah!, then both in The Christians together. Paul B here on drums & Henry Priestman on keys.

The Christians Save A Soul ... They were called The Christians because they were fronted by the three Christian brothers: Garry, Roger & Russell Christian. It has nothing to do with religion. It's their surname. Henry Priestman (keyboards & vocals) was the main songwriter & penned these songs - a bit confusing, I know. Garry is the only original member of The Christians in the 'new' Christians band. Henry is also still doing his thing, and is great live. I saw him live at The Everyman, Liverpool, where he shared a gig with the wonderful Deaf School. They are all good musicians.
